That's indefinitely more chad-like than being some s o y Black person buying Marvel comics.
>You spend all your life on the battlefield and are killed once you have power.
wow a life of real adventure exploring unseen lands women battlefields and Cities.I bet all he wanted was a safe 9 to 5 job in a pod.He lived more in 5 years on battlefield that anyone today does in a lifetime.
Are you kidding? This guy was wrestling with the world and coming out victorious, today you can't even fish on 40% of the world because is poisoned by Chinamen merchadise' byproducts or cucked out by the govt, reserved for those corps that pay.
a very, very small percentage of population were rulers at any given point in time though. if you were born 500 years ago you'd likely be a peasant barely making ends meet. the average person has it much better nowadays.
nein, imagine if you had a flock of cattle, and you lived off milk and meat. So I dont know what you think you mean by 'Barely making ends meet'. Nowadays you have to work in a stuffy office for money, rather than living off the earth. The earth provided everything that people needed
yes your life was stable and you had way more freedom from intrusive goverment. Not everyone was a serf and even if you were life was less stressful and chaotic. And if you wanted adventure you could have it.Now you cant have a simple stable life nor can you have any real adventure.
>imagine if you had a flock of cattle, and you lived off milk and meat.
You can literally do that now. In fact it is much easier to do this than at any point in history. Why don't you? Because you prefer the comforts of civilization to the hardships of actually having to literally work for a living.
>be peasant >farm with family in the fresh air 20 hours a week >spend rest of time getting sloshed with the boys and exploring untainted wilderness
Failing to see the issue
>The industrial revolution and it's consequences have been a disaster for the human race
Yes.
The industrial revolution brought in new employment practises that were massively detrimental to the living and working conditions of the wage earning classes. The opportunity to utilize technology in a way that liberates those from the bondage of exploitive labour seems to have been thus far missed.
It's a human tragedy.
I have to agree considering that there are no young females out in public that aren't on their smartphones the whole time

>You'll be long dead by that time, not your problem
Then the next generation is not my problem either, so what use is there to Ted's philosophy?
Any way, Ted was just trolling. He just wanted to hurt people in tech because he felt modern society had done him wrong personally. He cared nothing for nature or humanity, it was just personal revenge and him jacking off to the thought of people getting hurt.
sun already exploded once, everyone who was in daylight died, and earth was pushed away for a long time until it got in a new gravitational field of another star which is this sun and started orbiting around it. Why do you think the romans changed the calendar?
>easier than ever to actually live off land with easy access to livestock/fertilizers >moronic hippies would rather shitpost on a technology board about how technology is actually evil
Yeah, I'm sure you'd be a ceasar or an alexander, fricking morons.
I agree in most ways, the added convenience is nice but certain things like social media are destroying humanity.
But the cat's out of the bag now, there's no way to put it back in. We have to ride this all the way down until it explodes, and hopefully rebuild from the ashes.
dear Lord was uncle ted prescient. i wonder if he truly knows how bad things got after he went to prison.
Isn’t it ironic the thing he would hate would eventually make him famous
you use tech to destroy tech. uncle ted made use of the fruits of industrial society to build and sent those bombs. and to spread his manifesto far and wide.
i don't think industry or technology itself is to blame, i think it's our irresponsible use of it to feed our superficial desires for glory, wealth, vice and corruption. people ought to realize that all things will end, but if we keep struggling to attain something external we will continue the same pointless cycle as those before us.
the brave man, no longer fueled by anything material has made peace with his mortality and embraces the freedom he has by following his heart. only then will he be happy and escape from the cycle
Why is it that muh >INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION BAD
is an opinion usually held my losers addicted to their computera who spend all their time using modern technology? Are you guys just larping or what?
frick you Black person, i like my car, i like computer, i like vidya, i like anime, i like my remote dev job. The industrial revolution made life comfy
I do however believe that humans have made a huge mistake with how they used the technological leaps theyve been given. Now were about to crash civilization to pre industrial era and wont return for another few hundred years.
No, existence is suffering and death. Technology can set humanity free in nuclear fire. Without technology we can only wait for nature to wipe us out, with technology we can accelerate.
Before the industrail revolution population density was much smaller and so disease was much less prevalent, most of the treatments and vaccinations you have recieved in your life are for diseases which have only becme prevalent in the last 200 years. Furthermore you now have the risks of dying in car accidents, from gun violence, and if you are around people who dont practice good hygiene you are probably far more likely to get trivial colds as well as non-trivial diseases than a pre-industrial man would be
I've traveled the world and experienced multiple events of incredible human achievement all around the world through the internet and television. Someone even 100 years ago couldn't in their lives travel as far as I can in 24 hours and barely knew what was going on across the country. Please have a nice day.

the fact you are talking about him so long after his death

again, the average folk didn't had lands to grow, and the ones that had were forced to give any% to the lord for doing essentially nothing

Technology destroying civilization is a fairly recent thing, even if you factor in environmental damage and AGW.
You don't want pre-industrial society, you just want society without Twitter or dating apps.
I have to agree considering that there are no young females out in public that aren't on their smartphones the whole time

Technology will eventually make it possible to abolish suffering entirely.
>abolish suffering entirely
nuclear weapons already exist
Depends what they do with it. Just because it has the word "Nuclear" in it doesn't necessarily make it harmful.
There are plenty of scientific research you can do with nuclear weapons.
>abolish suffering entirely.
look s o yentists discovered a new antidepressant that makes you happy when you are overworked and watch adds.Dont fix the fricked up society fix the depression as a symptom.

>abolishing suffering bad
There is no valid argument you could give for this, besides nostalgia and masochism.
>Fix an inherently fricked system? Nah let's genetically engineer people to be able to better cope with it
Ted was right about everything
>WOOAAAAWWWW, LOOK AT THIS SICK VIDEO THAT SAYS THAT TECHNOLOGY WILL MAGICALLY MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME BRO ITS NOT POP SCIENCE DUDE I SWEAR!!!!
I think it's fine tbh. We just have to progress faster until technology fixes everything.
I agree. It's been going downhill for a while.
how else do we have a chance of escaping the earth once the sun begins to grow supernova?
Are we just gonna built a rocket out of nature, magic, and dreams?

I appreciate Ted but let's not pretend it's been all bad now.

guns existed way before industrial revolution
Only if you lived in a city with dead horses and shit in the street.
Those people dying at 30 lived more full lives than you will have done when you're 80
They had houses, children, and left behind a legacy and sometimes businesses too.
doubtful
many died virgins

You looked at a screen
I ate McDonald's in Thailand too
The industrial revolution was caused by both government and bankers so yes. It wasn't organic in the least bit.
>basing your outlook of life on a movie
LMAOing at your life senpai
I havent seen the movies and wont because it looks awful
> thinking humans are the final product of evolution
Yes, I agree.
