The memetics stuff was cool but the prose, style, plot and structure was uberpainful for me. Are there any good books that go into these themes?

tell us more about the memetics stuff
I'm assuming you're referring to the SCP stuff? Because that's the only place where I heard the term "antimemetics".
So a large part of the book is about memes in the original sense of the word as units of informations that spread between consciousnesses, and memeplexes which are collections of related memes. More importantly the book also feature antimemes, which are units or complexes of information that resist or don’t “want” to be spread.
Exploring human understanding of reality, experience of memories etc. as the result of consuming a series of memes and antimemes seem to me as something that could be fertile ground for a bunch of books.
Too bad it's pseudoscience, so the idea doesn't stand on its own.
Memes are observably real so out of graciousness I will assume you are referring strictly to antimemes
>pseudoscience
it's still reality.
It becomes a real science when some researchers publish articles on memes, which they already do. Reality exists beyond the science/pseudoscience dichotomy anyway. Reminder that scientists needed decades to figure out very basic, well known things. Spreading the scientific method beyond the hard natural sciences was truly a mistake. It dumbed down everything. Rote data collection and it's faulty interpretation has replaced plain argumentation.
Does true incel schizobabble count as an anti-meme by that definition? They tend to constrain themselves to the minds of those who originally conceived of them
See, here we go! You could write something about this
Hmmm, do you have any cool excerpts from the book? I might check it out
Sorry OP, but I can't suggest any other recommendations aside from SCP stuff since that's the only place I've seen these ideas in. To be honest, I don't even think it's all that interesting. Memetics and antimemes can add a neat layer of horror and mystery to an SCP if written well, but once you start delving into the mechanics of it all and introducing terms like memeplexes and noospheres it all just devolves into pointless technobabble and my eyes start glazing over.
Kek. selfish gene
Btw this anon isnt joking, selfish gene is literally about memes
I thought the last part of the book was not that good but overall a fun read. I guess you could read more articles on the SCP website
If you've ever heard of Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, there's a spin-off fanfic about Luna Lovegood which I thought was good. It's in two parts, covering her first and second year, and both of them cover similar territory.

But if you haven't read HPMOR then this recommendation is pointless.
Thanks!

how can one post be so wrong
God please stop. I got sucked into reading HPMOR and although the novel was interesting as a deconstruction of Rowling's wizarding world, I detest the community that produced it and has their heads so far up their asses being rAtIoNaL. I really don't want to get sucked into reading their fanfiction AGAIN when I already haven't read My Immortal like I promised myself I would.
I don't even have my isekai LN backlog finished yet, let alone the greeks; please don't heap more garbage onto my plate.
Your experience is par for the course for science fiction and the like
I like SCP still though
What’s your fav SCP material?
