it's not that much when you consider most of these millionaires are boomers that only got millionaire status when their real estate bags they bought for 100k 10x to a million

Exactly. This data is very miss-leading, break it down by age category and I bet you'll see 99% of "millionaires" is just boomers who got to buy really cheap houses whose price got inflated to shit over the course of their lives

This. Huge difference between having 1mil+ portfolio and 1 mil home that you can never sell until you die.

When we say millionaire does that exclude liabilities and include things like houses? What's the number if you're only counting those with 1 million+ liquid assets ex liabilities?

So 1 out of 63 americans. Im guessing it's mostly boomers

Only 258 million are even adults (unless you're expecting toddlers to get rich), upping the number to 2.1%.

Further, what percentage of people even consciously try to become millionaires via capital markets, real estate, business ownership, etc.? Everyone wants to be a millionaire but I'd bet less than 20 out of every 100 people even begin to go down a path to realistically accumulate wealth. The rest just play the lottery and bullshit about "someday".

If you actually try consistently your odds have to be far better than even 2.1%...

The number is also much higher if you only consider white males, also much higher if you only include white males that are on this website considering this is a business and finance forum, also much higher because a lot of ppl here are incels and don’t have any women to attend to/spend money on

To calculate the percentage of US adults who are millionaires, we'll need to know the total number of adults in the US. Based on the latest census data and estimates, the adult population in the US (defined as individuals 18 and over) can be approximated. Let's use an estimated adult population of 258 million, based on recent demographic trends and data. With 22.7 million millionaires in the US, we can now calculate the percentage.

    Let's do the math.

Approximately 8.8% of US adults are millionaires.

Crimson Pill: The US is the EASIEST country to become a millionaire. If you cannot become a millionaire in the EASIEST place in the world, you will NOT make it in any country.

The bigger blackpill though is that if you define millionaire as having a 1m+ net worth, being a millionaire really doesn’t mean shit and you can be a “millionaire” but still struggling in the current state of things

how the frick do I get rich? I left my software dev job because I can't stand the corporate environment. I have a ton of free time, I'm ready to learn a skill or start a business but I have no fricking idea how I should go about it or where to research this shit. I never want to have a job again, I would gladly freelance for 50% of what I used to earn. I can't stand having a fixed amount of money I earn monthly, I want to be able to scale it and earn more if I work more.
