There is no argument for why talented authors such as Rothfuss and GRRM should not just hire Sanderson to finish their series for them. You just KNOW Sanderson would be able to finish their books while still sharting out his own work without missing a beat. Yes, the quality of the prose will dramatically fall but you *will* get satisfying conclusions to *every* character's arc and no subplots will be left hanging.

Imagine, your favorite author's book series finished by Brandon Sanderson. Does this spark joy?
if the book series is unfinished then he wouldn't be my favorite author in the first place
I just know how fan bases can be. They can be hyper critical of things. That being said the WOT Adam base actually highly praised how Sanderson ended the series and I think that’s a huge testament to Sandersons capabilities.
in the case of WOT it's likely the fanbase was ecstatic to have any sort of plot development at all, after the torturous slog of books 9-12. I assume ASOIAF fans will be resigned to the same fate by 2028 or so when Winds of Winter still isn't out

Really feel for fans during this period. Was this where Perin spent whole books just walking around in the snow?
yes pretty much. Also this is just after Nynaeve spend an entire book looking for the bowl McGuffin
Oh god lol. Really felt like RJ was being paid by the word.
At that point I'd rather have the original author's notes and imagine the book for myself. Hell with GRRM I just assume it's basically the show ending with the really silly parts changed a bit and the main plot points more fleshed out and better written.
>implying Gurm has notes
It's even easier with him because he had to tell them the main plot points for the show (Bran, Shireen, Jon & Dany etc).
he gave HBO the notes for their show after they passed the books he'd already written? I just assumed they pulled everything out of their ass.
Not "notes" as such but there are plenty of interviews where people mention what they got straight from GRRM (Bran being king, Stannis burning Shireen and so on). Some things they made up (Arya killing the Night King) but most of it is GRRM's ending.

Why would you make an entire thread about this instead of responding to
Sorry, I didn't see your thread :^)
Yeah (You) just happened to have the same idea at the same time lol
NTA but "Sanderson should finish [unfinished series] because he finished WOT" is the stalest opinion in fantasy
Lukewarm but a correct opinion in fantasy however.
