I turned off webp support in my browser. Most servers will check if your browser supports it and fall back to serving you a jpg, which is nice. Because it's a SHIT format.
It's not even a proper format, like vp9, "the code is the format" which is a gay way to go about things.

in firefox just open about:config and search for webp
in chrome you can't turn it off lol
no reason. its works fine as-is. and prevents people from uploading stuff stolen from other sites (make uploading stolen images a pain). so from a dcma point-of-view it works.

There's no reason to support webP at all. JPEG XL, AVIF, and JPEG are better at lossy compression. JPEG XL and AVIF are better at lossless compression. What's the point of WebP?

This website should not support formats that only make shit look worse which is what webp does since that's the only thing it was designed to do.
