Just tell your project Black person to stop using test libraries for prod
Personal project.
homie I ain't figuring out which APIs are stable and which APIs are to be exposed from 6 gorillion lines of highly technical code.
>triggered by frogs.
go back
>reddit frog is moronic and cant read code
many such cases
>Should I just switch languages for this project?
No. You should KYS your frog-posting self.
I was using Zig btw. Should I switch to Haskell?
>no docs (might get them in the future)
vs
>no docs (project is abandoned)
gee what a difficult choice
Is the language rust? If so, you should always choose a different language.
Anons I want to write a project that helps me learn a new language.
It involves lots of Image Processing, font rendering, and html parsing.
Among the languages I'm considering are Zig, Haskell and Zig.
Please gib me recommendations anons...
I meant Zig, Haskell and Lisp.
Any other recommendations are welcome.
Sounds like a job for Python, or C++ if you want to get nitty gritty.
I'm already proficient in Python and C++. I want a new language to learn.
rust
What stage are you on? What is the size of the library? What part of it are you using?
Barely begun. Enough time to switch.
I don't like Rust.
If you can't find another library and can't write decent substitute, you should consider switch.
Depends on what you want to achieve in the end.
you too.
>Neither is there an HTML parser. I could still write a rudimentary one myself with regex.
Text parser unironically is right now only dependency in my hobby project, lmao. I'm really bad at it and after trying to make my own bad one and improve it iteratively, just added seeming good lib.
>Inb4 just read characters bro.
You have account for white space ,line breaks, multi line statements and so on. It's trivial to make a basic text parser. It's hard to make a good one.
I don't know what you're working on but you don't need a really good text parser. You just need one good enough.
I've written a parallel web crawling data hoarding project with nothing more than grep to parse the HTML.
The only image library I'm getting for Zig is zimg.
No documentation. "work in progress"
Neither is there an HTML parser. I could still write a rudimentary one myself with regex.
Shame really. I wanted to learn Zig, seemed like lanuguage with good design.
its a meme lang, anon. there's 2 human beings on the planet with any degree of regularity and no one working WITH the language fulltime. it's also ridiculous to say that it has good design when it is almost entirely unimplemented. it's exlusively for tiny personal meme projects only for another 5 years and if it hasn't died by then some real libraries might start being developed.
>i dont like rust
only low IQ chudtards don't like rust. are you a low IQ chudtard, anon?
>2 human beings working on Zig* with any degree of regularity
>I wanted to learn Zig
Stupid frogposter, waste of trips
>language spec promotes undefined behavior
For new stuff:
Python
C/c++
.net/c#
Rust
Java
Anything else? Are you moronic?
I already know all of those. I'm looking for an excuse to learn something different.
>only low IQ chudtards don't like rust. are you a low IQ chudtard, anon?
Ugly language. Working around the borrow checker is a pain in the ass. All of it to solve the problem of memory leaks and segfaults (which are both 100% skill issues)
>its a meme lang, anon.
You hurt my feelings.
>Working around the borrow checker is a pain in the ass.
Is this new "linus is le bad, because of le command line"? Because, I can see striking simmilarities.
