the reason you have a pile of unorganized shit on your desktop is because you think your desktop is "your computer". microsoft even tried to make this braindead easy for you by making empty folders named "music, documents, videos" etc in your user folder but you were not smart enough to work with that framework

Why do you have random libraries scattered all over the place, do you install software to the desktop? Move software installs to program files. That's if you can decipher what libraries belong to what, or just move them on the path. You don't need the Tor app directory on the desktop if you have the shortcut right next to it. Make a folder for images, put images inside. Make a folder for games, put games inside. Delete temp files like the archive.. or at least move it to your downloads. Why the frick do you have an empty folder called "New folder"?? How do you live this way

      >Why do you have random libraries scattered all over the place
Unpacking rar files that don't have folders containing the files. I'll usually put them on desktop for faster access.
      >do you install software to the desktop
      Yep
      >Why the frick do you have an empty folder called "New folder"??
To prevent the scattered libraries issue by extracting it to folder
      >How do you live this way
Imagine taking every thing that you have in your home and randomizing it's position. Instead of reorganizing my items I just memorize where it's at and go there to use it

Move everything into two drives to two different locations and then upload encrypted copy to cloud. Replace that trash with something good and stable like Linux. After a year you see what you really needed to get from those and you can permanently delete the rest.

    - Remove shortcuts of rarely used apps from the desktop
    - Save photos, music, and videos in their respective folders
    - Create a "SOFTWARE" folder for portable apps and projects
    - Keep the desktop clean and organized
    - Move default folder locations to another drive if low on space
    - Consider removing the DVD drive and adding an HDD bay
    - Avoid upgrading from Windows 10 to 11
    - Upgrade to Mint Cinnamon for a better experience.

None of that stuff looks important. It's all time wasting meme stuff like you're just terminally online wasting a frickton of time. Best bet is just to reformat the whole thing. Probably should get rid of the PC altogether.

Even if this is a bait post it rings true. Seeing people's desktops and there's nothing there but shortcuts to games, scattered images, NEW FOLDER and so on is a sign they shouldn't own a computer. If you've got no personal projects or productivity software then might as well not have anything on the desktop at all.

Don't overdo it though, you don't want to accidentally delete something or store it in a place you'd never think to look for again.

    >stop dumping random shit onto your desktop and just leaving it there
    >move your pirated software to program files / program files (x86) or create folders for them
also, why the frick do you have so many random dlls?
