I can only speak for myself but dark characters on a light background look sharper than the other way around so my eyes don't have to work as hard. I find the insistence that dark mode is easier on the eyes to be a total placebo. As long as the screen is about even with the ambient light and the walls, it's basically like reading paper. With dark mode you have to crank the brightness up so maybe people think light mode is worse when they switch between them and get blinded by full backlight.

It's not open and shut but dark on light is generally best from a usability standpoint.

I did a quick and dirty test with my camera's exposure meter and it seems what I perceive as about even is actually about twice as bright. Still though, I was meaning perceptually about even, in opposition to what I see people doing where the brightness is set to 100% and hurts to even look at.

your mileage will very with different websites that's why its easy to store settings for which website you want it turned on or off. For IQfy you'd be better off using the tomorrow theme
I just use israelitegles forced dark mode and it works fine on 4chin.

IQfy has a dark theme, dumbass. Always use native dark modes on site and add and exception to the extension. A native theme is always better, the entire purpose of dark reader is for sites that don't have one.
