I have 3 monitors with different size and framerate and it works flawlessly on Debian with Xfce exactly the way I expect it to work. On Windows 10 it didn't, I had to reconfigure it on every boot.
I use xorg (xfce) with 3 monitors that have different resolutions/framerates. just werks
>With different resolution, scaling factors and refresh rates?
Try "man xrandr" in a terminal
they are paid by ibm (red hat)
Wtf is that cringe? Here's the new agenda: >Openly acknowledging the harm IBM and RedHat have done to open source >Accepting that it's UNIX users' responsibility to dismantle IBM and RedHat >Three mandatory Waylump uninstalls per annum >Smashing GTK's client-side pencil dick with a hammer >Figuring out a use case for GNOME

This seems to have bad internal logic
Also it doesn't seem to have anything to do with work, merit, software, etc
If anyone hassles me on this I'm blocking out 2 hours a week to reflect on ally ship while job hunting
>linux is so cool and flexible and awesome and cool >you can run all sorts of wild hardware configurations >wait no not like that
i love linux but i fricking hate how it handles displays in general
macos and windows for example don't care if your efid is malformed but linux shits itself and refuses to fricking work without typing grub commands and then fricking around with building a real efid and messing with xrandr and jesus fricking frick i hate this shit
Why do you morons need 20 gorillion monitors anyway?
I'm saving up to get one of these. Much better use of my money. A single monitor that mogs four of yours.
I'll be playing DSC World flight sim while you moronic trannies pretend to "code" while actually dilating and doing endless tinkering on your systems to post on those attention prostitute desktop threads.
When you get a job and have enough money to afford one of those triple monitor Reddit setups, you realize that very few people actually benefit from having all of their shit visible at all times. At worst, it's an ADHD distraction.
That's not an excuse for Linux poorly supporting them, ofc.
Two monitors seems to be the most that’d be useful for anything. One screen for active work, second for referencing, research e.t.c. I can only imagine a third screen would be relegated to playing YouTube vids or having discord open or some useless shit.
Works on my PC.
Works on my machine
xfce
>tears screen
>he forgot to enable full pipeline composition (nvidia) or tearfree (intel/amd)
ngmi
you don't need 2 monitors, you useless tiktok troony.
What do you mean? I'm using multiple monitors for 20 years now. And it all runs on KDE Plasma with Xorg.
>KDE
>Xorg
not for long lmao
I'm on debian,
So, yes for long
lel, that wasn't me
I'm not poor either but I dont need 8k nor 9999mhz refresg rate, I also have same sync rate (60hz) for my 3 1080p 27'' monitors
>1080p
You guys still take the horse and buggy into town too?
i use 4k on x11, i have done so the last 9 years. I'll switch to 8k soon.
Let me guess, you "need" more?
>I'm using multiple monitors for 20 years now.
With different resolution, scaling factors and refresh rates?
no I'm not poor so my all 7 monitors are 8K 244hz
yes https://streamable.com/ii1g8x
This absolutely works on my machine with Nvidia card.
>With different resolution, scaling factors and refresh rates?

Stop lying.
>for 20 years now. And it all runs on KDE Plasma with Xorg.
Seems like a skill issue.
indeed, devs are incompetent
KDE sucks regardless of display server, true, but that's irrelevant to the discussion.
There is no use case for 2 monitors
I don't have any problems with my multi-monitor setup. Is this just a bait thread?
worked on my machine even in xf86 times
What's the use case for that?
Use case unclear.
I have two displays and one TV. One of the displays is mirrored to TV. This setup has been working since 2014.

kek
what a lying troon
Cope wincuck
Why do gaylanders lie so much? And what could a person even gain from shitting on a linux display server on an anonymous forum?
they are paid by ibm (red hat)
Absolutely vile.

Stop making threads to get help with installing Linux, go to

windows is terrible at dealing with monitors and shits itself with edid too. I have unironically had more issues on windows than linux with monitors.

Yes exactly my point. Nobody that does any actual work has six monitors and shit. I could understand two, at most.
Yeah, I used to use 3 monitors but now I just use one 4k 40 inch monitor, no dpi scaling. It's much better and very comfy with dwm grid layout.

it is not 1998 anymore, they have like telly overscan compensation and stuff
I use three with no issue
skill issue, works on my machine
