Why do so many gay men speak and act “gay”?

As in, in a specific tone, with specific mannerisms that are clearly affectations? Deliberately done.

Is this something that naturally happens if you’re gay for some reason? Is it purely learned?

Why do they do this? Why does being attracted to men make you change your accent, develop a lisp, start doing hand movements while talking etc

Was this always the case? Did gay men act like this in the 1800’s too? And just nobody realised it meant they were gay? Or was this some new development around/after WW2 somehow?

It’s especially weird because in my experience at least

>SOME gay men do not act like this. And just act completely normal. No indication they’re gay until you find out. Usually not closeted either, you’d just assume they were straight because they aren’t being so flamboyant
>lesbians seem less obviously lesbian in comparison unless they’re wearing extremely butch clothes
>some closeted gays who are very eager to pretend to be straight still can’t seem to help but talk and act gay still, to the point other people know before they do sometimes, so this really doesn’t seem like some chosen affectation. This indicates that it may be somewhat natural and brain related perhaps?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swish_(slang)

Swish is a US English slang term for effeminate behavior and interests[1][2] (camp), emphasized and sanctioned in gay male communities prior to the Stonewall riots.[3][4][5] This behaviour is also described as being nelly in British English,[6] and both terms are often considered to be derogatory.[1][7]

Being swish stereotypically includes a "sashaying" walk, and the use of falsetto voices, feminine pronouns, and superlatives.[8][9] According to Martin Levine and Michael Kimmel in Gay Macho: The Life and Death of the Homosexual Clone:

Extravagant language is common. Such expressions as "Oh my word!" "Good heavens!" and "Oh, my dear!" are readily associated with other aspects of a feminine man. In describing ordinary experiences the male variant is likely to use words as "terrific," "amazing," "completely devoted," "horrible," "tremendous," "sublimely," "charming," "appalling," "vicious," "loathed," and "madly." Exaggerations are made more conspicuous by placing undue or erroneous emphasis on certain syllables and intonations which leave little doubt of the effeminacy of the speaker.

being gay is a subculture like being a surfer or something e.g. if you identify with being a surfer you will speak like a surfer.

      >being gay is a subculture

I thought it was a sexual orientation. How can you have a culture around wanting to frick a gender?

There’s no subculture of men who wear big boots and sweater necks because they specifically love fricking women in the butt so much

There is a subculture of people who like to dress in animal costumes and frick each other. I don't believe homosexuality is a sexual orientation. Bonobos frick whatever interests them and nobody categorises them into bizarre categories like homosexual and heterosexual. The reason gay men act the way they do is because they are not part of the mainstream in the same way nerds aren't part of the mainstream so they identify with each other and express themselves in certain ways to appeal to others like them and exclude other people from their subculture.

Do you think gays just have a sexual kink then?

If so do you think people become gay from some specific psychological reason while young, which is what a lot of kinks seem to be attributed to?

Yes I think preferring a gender is a sexual kink just like preferring a certain race or a certain body type. People have sexual kinks for all sorts of reasons. I think it's too complicated to reduce it to one reason.

Common thing I have heard is that gays “reproduce” by molesting young boys. Which is probably pretty simplistic but there is also a weirdly high amount of gay men who seem open about having their first gay experience when they were very young with an adult man

Then again teenage girls also prefer older guys so I dunno

There's no evidence of that causative relationship.

There's zero evidence that homosexuality is innate or genetic. Society believes this because Big Gay has propagandised them into thinking so, but the true cause is yet to be understood.

This is true. Read that book that primitive gay rights campaigns by telling them how to message things. Changed their whole method from they’re different to they were born like this

The subculture is based upon same-sex pathology. Just as you have subcultures based around mental illness or disability.

How does this explain the closeted gays acting like it while being in denial?

Or the very young person who acts like it without real sexual development yet, to the point people assume they’re gay (and often turn out to be right when they’re older?”

The closeted gays on some level see themselves as gay even though they cannot admit it to other people so they subconsciously behave like how gay people are expected to behave.

The obvious answer I’d have thought is gays act gay so people know they are gay so they can easily find other gays.

Except this seems bizarre and counter productive. Especially for today.

In the past you definitely wouldn’t want that being public knowledge, yet the gay mannerisms were well known because evidently they couldn’t help themselves

Nowadays you don’t need to publicly advertise you’re gay because it’s not an issue and you can find plenty of gays online so finding others isn’t that hard

Not sure if they figured out the cause of gayness completely yet. But I read a while ago increased estrogen during foetal development influenced it. Part of what causes this is if the mother had a previous son. Studies showing an abnormal amount of gays are second or third sons. So a first son is very unlikely to be gay. Second more so. Third even more so. Something to do with hormonal changes after each I guess

So could some slightly different brain wiring/chemistry cause gay men to act flamboyantly as a matter of cause?

There’s definitely recordings in writing about men acting flamboyantly as homosexuals as far back as the 1800’s. So this is not new. During and previous to 1900 or so, most people were still much more naive though, and had less experience with these ideas. And would find it hard to believe a man could be gay even if he sounded and acted extremely “sissy”. As long as he wasn’t openly being gay, a literal crime, they’d just assume he was “sensitive” or something.

Just a topic I was pondering recently because I’ve never heard real explanations for such a common thing to see and hear

It depends on the amount of microplastics that the mother had in the womb at those 2 weeks when the fetus is developping male-female brain and hormones.

If she received more microplastics (contaminated chemicals) the boy will be more feminized even in attitudes and mannerisms. It she received less the boy will have a gay sexual orientation but not as high effeminate attitudes.

So all of it depends on the amount of chemicals in the wombs. Scientifics can change the sexual orientation of fish throwing more chemicals into the water. Obviously there are no more scientifics doing these studies because it would be an outrage and no one is financing them.

    Two possible explanations:
    >1) They're putting on a show based on cultural assumptions based on the portrayal of gays in media and culture - and they'd all become hyper-butch, bearded, musclemen if you changed the portrayal.

    >2) It's something in the weird genes that made them like a wiener up their ass.

Considering that research into gay biology is basically forbidden by modern academia outside of certain very carefully defined 'safe' areas we'll probably never be able to reasonably discount option 2, but it's probably somewhere in the middle

It's a combination of two things

    >Early childhood socialization
It's semi-common for young gay kids to hang around girls, which makes them pick up their mannerisms. Those who chiefly socialized with other boys are very unlikely to have them.

    >Subcultural influence
I've noticed it's for example rather common among urban american gays simply because these are more likely to be in touch with """gay culture""", such drag shit and caring about trashy pop star prostitutes. You can also compare that on country-to-country basis, as in countries without a developed "gay culture" homosexuals are more likely to assimilate into the wider society and be much more straight-acting.

For many societies and cultures that aren’t overtly Christian it would also not even consider being gay as a state of being. Just “playing around”.

E.g. romans who openly fricked boys while being married.

Similar situations can be found in many historical cultures in Asia and Europe.

Usually being fricked was considered shameful though. As it’s the feminine position. If you were doing the fricking it’s still manly I guess

Romans were funny about it from our modern straight/gay framework because they also near exact stereotypes we could all recognize today about certain men being weak, lustful and effeminate failed male sissies, but they didn't apply them to homosexuals, but rather specifically to guys who were in some way submissive in bed. In other words, (exclusively) active/dominant gays were excluded from that group, but straight men into things like femdom and cunnilingus fell under that umbrella

homosexuals are hormonally ill, they act femine because of hormone inbalances during and beyond their fetal growth.
