English teachers in Asian countries are usually chosen by the color of their skin. In China for e.g., where I lived, parents take great pride if there are White teachers in the school, even if the English teacher is some Russian or French dude that can barely speak English.
Vietnam used to have e-Visa for Indians but a ton of them abused it and went illegal, so they stopped it. There are already a ton of Western Expats settling in SEA countries, teaching English. So, I doubt it would be easy for an Indian to find an English teaching job in Vietnam without a teaching degree.
A good option for him would be to move to any of the Oil Rich GCC countries where there are already a lot of Indians running business'.
