Most people on this site have an issue with acknowledging women as merely being other people. You either worship or denigrate them (these are two sides of the same coin) and that's where you're constantly tripping yourselves up. As soon as you stop doing either then things will gradually fall into place.

I understand that it was written by a woman. Would it similarly be taken at face value by OP if it was written by a man about men? I'd like to doubt it. OP's concern has arisen out of his insecurity regarding women, which can partially be addressed by altering his perspective on them. This is not to say that the women described in the extract don't exist at all, by the way, because they certainly do.
"Look at women as real humans" doesn't really answer how one can be certain a woman isn't playing a specific role to appease you.
