I haven't read that book but this one summarizes every single thing from the greek mythology into a 150 pages book.

When I wanted to start with the Greeks this book just felt way too long to slog through probably no better than using Wikipedia for the stuff you don't know.

This seems like a better alternative

i love how catholics have convinced everyone on earth that asinine stories about white men with six-packs talking about philosophy are somehow allegorical

This would be an absolutely ghastly introduction to Greek Mythology. Very dry and factual. Hamilton’s book is much better

Just study the SP1 Greek Mythology deck and read the actual Greek stories.
All this b***h does is summarize and spoil.

Just read primary sources instead. Myth compilations are always trash. They're all sterile will none of the soul that makes myth important. Read Ovid and Hesiod

Ovid and Hesiod are myth compilators too. They didn't create the myths.

It's a good introduction. Personally I think Robert Graves is more useful. But i mean, it's the greek myths. You'll read 10 intros about it because it's endlessly fascinating

imo learning through osmosis through actually reading the Greeks and Romans is the best way. Ovid requires some context, but not much more than reading the Iliad, Odyssey and some Plutarch gives me.

I got all my mythology knowledge from Sophocles, Euripides and Aeschylus.
The most entertaining way to learn it.

Literally the story of the fallen angels. Before the flood, they came down from heaven and took flesh form and bread with women to prevent a pure line for Jesus Christ. After the flood, God gave the angels that did not disobey Him, specific nations to watcher over after Mankind was divided for their arrogance at the Tower of Babel.
Notice how literally every mythology looks the same? It's all because it all originated from the same point in history.
