>bugmen don't read books. They can't even read comics. That's why they are so much into comic book movies
this is the best description of bug men ive ever witnessed
I have literally never in my life "slowread". How does that even work? Do you say every word you read to yourself inside your head? Why? Sounds bizarre.
>Do you say every word you read to yourself inside your head?
This is the only way to properly read. If you haven't been doing this you might as well just reread absolutely everything you've "read" up until this point.
if you're reading something that legit does not matter, like genre fiction, then sure, speed read. what do you actually have to lose? i can't imagine speed reading philosophy though.
It's alright. You can read more efficiently, up to a point. But the feverish dream of speedreading is a quixotic ideal to pursue. Unless you're able to overclock your "personal intuition", understanding and processing feelings, implications, worlds, etc., you'll only be glancing over the information without true comprehension. So, for literature, philosophy, and anything else that tries to dig beneath the surface of reality and peer into the human condition, you're only undermining yourself. Meme speedreading might work for gathering raw information and prospecting sources, so your average nonfiction monograph. But that's about it.
a crock of shit unless you're speed reading academic texts/articles. it's good take your time reading and visualise what you read, especially in both fiction and non-fiction
No wiesz takie podejście ma też pewne swoje zalety. Ale nie jestem tego na sto procent pewien. Będę musiał to jeszcze raz na spokojnie przemyśleć. Ogólnie, fajnie że Polacy też tutaj się produkują. Miło spotkać rodaka na tym portalu
it's like speedrunning a videogame on your first run. pointless and takes away the enjoyment. i actually slow speed if anything, there's books that i enjoy that i refrain myself from finishing all at once, so i can take them in slowly and wonder before going to sleep what's going to happen next etc.. i don't see the point of speed reading truly, must be tiktok obsessed people who have no attention span.
Completely moronic, anyone who tells me they can read a book a day is just telling me they're moronic and don't actually read to absorb knowledge, but instead read to look cool. B)
Speedreading is usefull for low brow stuff, where the Details don't matter as much and understanding the general gist is enough. For serious content where deep understanding is necessary to grasp it's depth, you're definitely do yourself a disservice by speedreading.
It's great if your main goal is to brag on IQfy about how many pages you read a day.
But no one here reads.
for bugmen
bugmen don't read books. They can't even read comics. That's why they are so much into comic book movies
they certainly do 'read' 'books', usually non-fiction, usually on an e-read or via audible

I don't read so i don't care
more of an audiobook guy, huh?
I read rather slow and even then retention can be hard at times because of adhd. So I guess, I'm fine with my reading speed.

I-is there another way to read?

Just read the summaries on wikipedia.

>needing multiple parts to explain speed reading is bullshit
gotta get those views bro
Completely unnecessary, unless you're in highschool and have a book report due in two days, and you haven't started yet.

Real easy. Start doing eye exercises and training your peripheral vision
Nobody on IQfy reads
Reading quickly and without using one's finger to parse the text is encouraged.
But for the life of me, I cannot fathom why.

I'm reading a book about Stalin right now, he claims to have read 500 pages a day....
Do you all believe that shit? That would take hours.
This is because Stalin had the power to create a time bubble with his moustache, among other things.
I also learned is he was 5'5" and had one arm shorter than the other. He also had very bad tooth problems throughout his life.
