Why are women afraid of pirating?

I don't think most women have the basic tech skills needed to pirate these days. It's not like the 2000s where we were mindlessly pirating music and everyone did it. Now you need both motivation and a tiny bit of knowledge.

I think you're right. Too many people don't know how to pirate media just like anon

Who are you quoting and how the hell did whoever you're quoting measure that?

doesn't know how to search a quote to find its source.

Video has become the main focus of piracy instead of audio like in the past. I can't see too many women pirating lots of TV shows or movies. Maybe some will be using media servers set up by their husbands or boyfriends with automated tools downloading their favorite shows. Just subscribing to the streaming service that has the kind of content you like to watch is more likely. I don't think for most women that would mean having lots of different subscriptions. Myself I have more obscure taste and it would be really expensive to have all these streaming services. I still pirate everything, even music.

Are you guys literally moronic? If I say redheads are more likely to sunburn, and you say “ok but I saw a red haired guy at the beach and he wasn’t sunburned…..”do I need to keep going? If OP had said “women have never pirated in the history of computers”, your responses would be a valid retort to it. As it stands, you are as stupid as your girlfriend/sister, and you should transition asap because you have the intelligence of a woman anyway.

There's a reason men from thousands of years ago from various civilizations wrote about how you should never give women too much freedom or rights. Why didn't you listen, it's been there all the time.

As a child before the internet and mp3s and all of that pirating something seemed so cool because it took a bit of effort. I remember copying CDs that friends and relatives owned to tapes. By the time the internet made it easier the anti piracy messaging just acted as advertising for it. Like this shit is illegal as FRICK. Just makes me want to do it more. I started with Napster. Found my way onto IRC and soon I was downloading full albums. Then downloading SVCD movies and burning them to watch on my DVD player. The deeper I got the more time and effort it took to get these things on shitty early 2000s internet which would have turned off a lot of normies. But it was like a kind of hobby that people were into which made it more interesting. As internet became faster it turned into just this mindless thing you do. But it's more like the old days because many people won't even think about doing it unless you remind them they can.

What people tend to miss is that it was a normal thing to do, until some israelites figured out they could squeeze shekels out of it and made whole laws about it.

people nowadays use streaming platforms. Even if they know they can pirate stuff, the second you say a series is not on their favorite platform they stop caring.

i pirated stuff because there was no where to buy it. i bought like 5 copies of Diablo for example because it was everywhere and then I had cdkeys for my friends or a backup for a scratched disc. metal album from some scandanavian band? i would download it then buy a tshirt online.
of course i also never had the money to purchase all my music. I figured if linkin park has the same song playing on 5 stations simultaneously they are making enough money it doesn't matter for me to pirate their songs, and I can buy an album from some local band. With movies it came down to shit like scratched discs and region locking. I'm not going to buy the damn movie twice so i can bring the dvd on vacation

    >can't into female psychology
Typical IQfy, you probably haven't even seen a woman before. Women care about social cohesion. They do what the group does because being shunned and ostracized was death for a woman and her children. That means if society tells women not to do X because X is bad, then they aren't going to do X, regardless of the principles behind it.

women are genetically hardwired to obey preceived authority. men have a tendency to disobey as a demonstration of their own capability to become an authority that women will then obey as a breeding strategy. my source? For me, I laugh at the increasingly stupid restrictions of copyright law.

    >you bought this movie, BUT DON'T YOU DARE SHOW IT TO ANYONE ELSE, EVERYONE HAS TO BUY THEIR OWN COPY
    >sorry, you don't own your copy anymore, it's a rental
    >sorry, your digital copy has been rescinded because the movie contains wrongthink
    >no refunds by the way

At that point you invite people to pirate, if only so they can at least have the damn product they paid for.

Also streaming services only allow you access to the media as long as you continue to pay for the monthly subscription. A lot of new content is only available this way now. I can't buy it to keep it even if I want to follow their stupid restrictions about how I am able to copy it.

        >Also streaming services only allow you access to the media as long as you AND THE STREAMING COMPANY continue to pay for the monthly subscription

        ftfy

Remember the debacle with sony and discovery a few months ago? How about people who purchased Grand Theft Auto digitally, and had their games gutted without permission because muh copyrights?

        Anonymous

An easy way for anyone to make copies and redistribute this type of stuff is to just record it while it plays, like in the old days of pirating off cable. Streaming services are basically just cable 2.0.

          Anonymous

It's the shittiest way to do it which is why nobody really does it anymore. There was a time where people were actually capturing video from streaming services using HDMI capture cards. Thankfully that's in the past. Now they are getting the widevine keys to decrypt the streams. Some commercial software has even been made to make that easy for normies but it stops working at times and the people distributing pirated copies are further ahead not getting interrupted by such things.
