>Tippu Tip, or Tippu Tib was an Afro-Omani ivory and slave trader, explorer, governor and plantation owner.
>He was also the most well-known slave trader in Africa, supplying much of the world with black slaves and owning over 10,000.
Why don't schools teach about this guy?
Because you live in the west, not on in the Swahili coast
Why do people obsess with Blacks enslaving Blacks even tho those same people like to say Irish were enslaved first and treated worse(they did and it was funny) or ignore Whites enslaving each other Muslims enslaving whites?
>it was funny
What made it more funny than blacks being buck broken by mechanical machines?
Whites being buck broken by actual Bvlls.
W-what is that Arab guy on the left doing with that white girl?
Yeah because Arabs totally didn't place an emphasis on black Africans. Lol, this is like a israelite saying "nazis holocausted us but they killed lots of poles, take that!" moron.
Pretty much. To this day, Arabs are buck breaking black slaves while being the West's b***h for the last 200 years. Strange how Black Chud sees that as some kind of own lmao.
>Yeah because Arabs totally didn't place an emphasis on black Africans
Wrong since they enslaved or bought slaves many groups. that';'s why you see euro slaves in MENA under different era or the use of Arabs slaves.
Arabs pretty much shit on every group in Arabia just so you know.
Why would a guy who lives in presumably western country learn about Omani or Swahili history? It's not like your history books care about anything that's not ww2 anyway
Don't be so disingenuous, this guy sold slaves to the west, its not like he was concentrated entirely within his region. If western schools teach about ancient Egyptian and ancient Chinese history, then I'm sure they can make space for another element of the slave trade, especially since that's a favourite topic of western academia.
Were those slaves transported over to the New World?
Yes
Yes, he was a major player. You think schools should only teach about the "white" men who traded and sold slaves while ignoring the Arabs and their allies?
How? He traded slaves well after the Atlantic Slave trade.
>Yes, he was a major player
He was born after the Atlantic Slave Trade ended. Kys Nazi cracker. You will never have an ethnostate.
Not him but wanting to discuss this guy makes one a nazi? Lol, what the frick happened to IQfy?
>what the frick happened to IQfy?
Nafri, We Wuz Hoteps and leftypol trannies invaded en masse. Now this place is pretty much dead.
Because he can't even get the most basic face which is TT's base of operations and time period.
>but wanting to discuss this guy makes one a nazi?
His intentions are clear when discussing this person. He believes that the US only focuses on white slave owners because it's part of a "israeli plot" or at the very least it's some form of "white liberal guilt" and "leftists propoganda" in schools to make Whites look as bad as possible without discussing black slave owners. He is immediately exposed when bringing up a black slave owner that had absolutely nothing to do with the Atlantic Slave Trade (he was literally born after it ended) and asks why American schools aren't teaching more about this person (the implication is clear).
Is his story relevant to the Atlantic Slave Trade?
>If western schools teach about ancient Egyptian and ancient Chinese history
They don't, Egypt gets maybe 1 chapter and China is mentioned in passing
If you dont learn about the Red Turbans or whatever huge wars, why would you learn about this 1 Swahili warlord
I had month-long units on both, it was from comprehensive sure but at least my district/curriculum tried to make everyone globally rounded and not just teach the west.
I feel bad for your education
>this guy sold slaves to the west
Tippu Tip sold slaves to coastal Omani/Zanzibar, various internal African slave markets and to the ME and a few others.
>Why don't schools teach about this guy?
Which schools are we talking about?
He got mentioned in my course on 19th century imperialism I think, because Euro opposition to the intra-African slave trade was a big motivating factor. And because it's part of the story of the Congo Free State, 'cause appointing him a provincial governor while claiming to be stamping out slavery was the ultimate act of cynicism.
But I don't remember much about what I learned in school vs. just from reading books later.
>cause appointing him a provincial governor while claiming to be stamping out slavery was the ultimate act of cynicism.
That instance isn't even really exceptional in that time period (not that I want to mitigate it however). Many colonies still made use of slaves in labour due to limitations of the state. In the case of Britain in West Africa since abolition had the precedent of paying slave owners compensation they could not do that again in West Africa due to the sheer cost, and for the many labour needs of the colony they needed to gather up a pool of labour fast which is why often times slaves still had a presence in Brits owned or controlled areas in that region.
This often led to clashes with Africans who were told that they'd be freed or that slavery would be abolished in British territories.
I'm starting to suspect this might be an incel thread.
