To anons who still use Windows, I ask this question

Who owns your computer: you, or Microsoft?

Who forces you to make an account?
Who forces you to update?
Who forces Edge to keep coming back even after you've nuked it for the 7th time?
Who forces you to accept telemetry?

Is it your computer or "This PC"? Some food for thought.

Ohhh this homosexual again who has no clue.

Who fricking cares? Stop leaving your PC on and unattended if you're that fricking paranoid. Stop using bitlocker and use something that doesn't use TPM.

        >leaving your PC on
        >he thinks that pc has to be turned on for ime to have full access
        >The Intel Management Engine always runs as long as the motherboard is receiving power, even when the computer is turned off.

And what can they do with it when your shit is fully encrypted without TPM? Nothing.

I'm sure you will make up some horseshit though.

            you are damn right;
I speculate that they can rootkit your machine so the next time you read your disks all the keys are being sent to glowBlack folk.gov, or eventually stored unencrypted

I'm not in the tech field, I just like tech. Everytime I go and use Linux I hit some inevitable road block that frustrates me. Fine. I search for solutions, work arounds, end up getting frustrated and leaving. This happens once every year or two.

Windows just does what I need it to do. Maybe not suitable for others, which is fine, since "better" is different for everyone.

    >Who owns your computer: you, or Microsoft?
me but i dont care about your pseudo-philosophiocal "i spend my whole day on IQfy and treat my security as if i'm a cia operative" questions
    >Who forces you to make an account?
    i dont make one
    >Who forces you to update?
    again, no one.
    >Who forces Edge to keep coming back even after you've nuked it for the 7th time?
oh no there's a scary app that i don't touch which just sits on my pc!!! aaaa the horror.
    >Who forces you to accept telemetry?
i've turned it off but i don't particularly care. this shit really doesn't matter bro. you can't be in the 21st century and still have all of your privacy intact, as said as it sounds. unless you came out of the womb and went until 18 without creating any mainstream social media account, posting any photos, etc. blah blah blah.
    >Is it your computer or "This PC"? Some food for thought.
it's not. it's just some pointless neet "you don't realize you're in the matrix" talking point shit.

Noone forces you to make an account (easily bypassable, or just use unattended install options)
Noone forces you to update (easily can be disabled with a single click in ShutUp10)
Noone reinstalls edge (you can either uninstall it, or remove the components by editing the installation ISO directly)
Noone forces you to accept telemetry (you can disable it with ShutUp10, or block MS servers trough a hostfile to be extra safe)

As long as you have a reasonably up to date kernel and Mesa It shouldn't matter if you use Steam, it provides all runtime libraries.

    >Who forces you to make an account?
What account? I didn't create any accounts other than local.
    >Who forces you to update?
No one, I restart my computer for updates once a month.
    >Who forces Edge to keep coming back even after you've nuked it for the 7th time?
Lol wut? Just run Windows N

    >Who owns your computer: you, or Microsoft?
    Me.

    >Who forces you to make an account?
No one, on Windows 10 LTSC I created a local account just like on Linux.

    >Who forces you to update?
No one, I periodically check for security updates by myself feature updates don't exists on LTSC.

    >Who forces Edge to keep coming back even after you've nuked it for the 7th time?
I don't have Edge, I did uninstall it and it never came back because I live in the EU where it's illegal for Microsoft to do that.

    >Who forces you to accept telemetry?
No one, telemetry is disabled by the group policy editor and Microsoft telemetry servers are blocked in the hosts file.

    I don't have an account
I blocked updates 2 years ago
    I haven't seen Edge in 2 years
    I disabled Telemetry

It's my computer, why would it not be? I can do what I want, even install another OS if I wanted to.
