Sony died with the ps3
Alot of people shit on it and the psp but that was the last time they made original games that didn't suck.
Frick the ps4 excavator garbage and frick the zen 2 rdna 2 shit. It was good for pcs but it's aging like milk
nostalgia-gay the post best post
ps2 was the peak imo and it started going downhill after that. i hate how everything went online and started becoming GaaS. old offline consoles will be really valuable in the future i reckon. buy em while you can!
What do you mean c**t, ps3 literally has better graphics than xbox 360 and it had free online.
the online services will be shut down at some point, moronchama.
>Consoles are the worst way to archive games their disc drives always shit out
you can repair them.
I had two blue ray DVD drives die within months of each other one from 2009 and my ps3 slim from 2010
Good luck finding laser parts for 20yo shit
you can still buy aftermarket drives for the ps1, they aren't even expensive
>you can still buy aftermarket drives for the ps1, they aren't even expensive
And what happens when you can't? It's easier an quicker just to find a compilation and emulate and thats now all the way up until gen 7
bruh, this zoomer logic is hurting my brain. physical hardware you have own and have direct access to is the most secure option in a world where everything is becoming SaaS and GaaS. enjoy windows 12 where you're only leasing your OS and can't start your PC without being connected to the internet.
I'm 32 your being obtuse
Optical has always been shit and inferior to solid state and spinny
i would rather not buy a optical drive. the mods that let you use usb storage or sd cards are much nicer. not sure if playstations have them but many of the other popular retro consoles have
ps3 literally had no games, only really remember playing LBP and MGS4, everything else was on xbox or wii
Xbox is the one that literally had no games, everything was on Wii or PS3. No wonder the PS3 managed to outsell it even after being launched a year later and the whole thing being disastrous to say the least.
None of your beloved consoles of that gen has games, subhuman homosexual
Consoles are the worst way to archive games their disc drives always shit out
Thanks
i agree. back then consoles really were what morons make them out to be nowadays. no game installation, no system updates, no patches, no bullshit. just put the disc in and run the game. and that game better be good on release, because there is no way to fix it with patches or dlc later on.
>It was good for pcs but it's aging like milk
ps4 hardware sure but not ps5 hardware.
Zen 2 3700 is already having trouble hitting 120hz and the rdna 2 6700ish sucks at rt
It's going to age like milk their Gonna have a rdna 4 and zen 4 console next year
ps5 was never meant to be a 120hz console moron. it was meant to do 1440p/4k 60hz which is what a 6700xt+3700 hits on pc.
I doubt any console will ever do 4k rt 120 hz
Shame they dropped the ball on psvr2
Consoles can use FSR 2.0 now. PSO2 supports it. They will adopt FSR before spending money on new hardware.
>Consoles can use FSR 2.0 now. PSO2 supports it. They will adopt FSR before spending money on new hardware.
Zen 3 and rdna 3 should be the go then ps5 pro at some point
Fsr2 is ok but it's worse than Dlss2.x
>Fsr2 is ok but it's worse than Dlss2.x
they're the same shit. fsr 1.0 was worse than 2.0 but that's no longer the case. nvidia's scam got exposed by multiple reviewers and I can verify it myself because I have an Nvidia card and can enable both and see.
>CPU is already having trouble hitting certain video output parameters
Woooooow.
Consoles don't aim for high framerate, so it's fine. It's not like the meme GDDR as RAM would allow it anyway.
>Frick the ps4 excavator garbage
It's actually a netbook arch, Jaguar. Stop perpetuating this myth about FX-like on PS4.
I love my ps vita.
I have 60 GB of eroge stored on it.
Frick the PSP
Based, this guy gets the vita usecase
I actually plan to hoard more from NPS before the PS Store is shut down for good. Archival is important to me, after seeing so many content on the web disappear overnight without a single backup in place. Too bad my SD card is only 64 GB. But that doesn't stop me from storing these games in a 4 TB hard drive (and having backups, too).
Why the frick do you care about a backdoor in your kiddy toy?
you dont understand. from developer's stand point vita was pajeetware because of ARM garbage it enabled shit devs being able to make homebrew for it with low effort. while psp you had to learn white man language like C and Assembly to be proficient in it
what amazing programming projects have you done, Mr White Man Programmer?
backdoors are bloatware and hog system resources when it could be used instead to make the games more enjoyable.
I have a PSP, and Vita is a much better piece of hardware.
No shit it came out 7 years later. Anything is a product of its time and has to be evaluated as such. My processor from 2007 would be revolutionary back in 2000, but it's a piece of trash that wastes electricity in $current_year.
The PSP was great device in the mid to late 2000s, the ps Vita was trash in the early to mid 2010s...
>while psp you had to learn white man language like C and Assembly to be proficient in it
I made them in Lua as a kid
Vita is solid especially for its time, problem is that with smartphones you could always just consoom on your phone and didn't need a specific device to consoom media on like the PSP. Also not that many interesting games actually came out on the Vita, I can only think of Killzone and uncharted.
also memory cards on vita were stupidly overpriced. at launch it cost $100 for 32gb. the micro sd card equivalent was $20.
>had no backdoors
pandora battery was literally a backdoor you moron
you're a turbo Black person moron, this is one of the most moronic threads out there right now
except it had one that literally let you install another os by using a specific kind of battery
>had no backdoors
Haha this guy didn't put custom firmware on his PSP to run homebrew and emulators
but vita also has PSP hardware and with adrenaline it's literally a better PSP
i have the vita but don't use it because the cracking process is difficult. you need some buggy hard to install special driver AND wifi access and a fricking custom dns server on the router to do it
>you need some buggy hard to install special driver
no you don't
>AND wifi access
well obviously
>a fricking custom dns server on the router to do it
no you don't lol how can you be this moronic, you do that on the vita itself and it's just for connecting to PSN and bypassing the updates
vita is literally the easiest console ever to hack
https://vita.hacks.guide/get-started.html
i tried and it didn't work. i would have done this through usb on pc but apparently it wont work without installing the system update. it will somehow steal internet from the usb and be aware of the outdated software and then access to anything useful is blocked
Do you have normal CMA installed? Remove it.
do you mean the program that came with the driver? i don't think that it will connect at all if that thing is not running
>what went wrong
Extra credits did a vid on this, long time ago.
Basically, if you pitch your console as "being able to display current-gen console graphics", development budgets skyrocket. Meanwhile, people do not want to pay AAA prices for portables except when it's Nintendo, games on Vita didn't break even, devs stopped making games and it launched into a death spiral.
>MIPS soul
>backdoored ARM soulless
Nevertheless, you're a moron on the grounds that CPUs don't have souls.
Psp had a ton of backdoors, thats THE reason it became popular - it was easy to crack. It manages security in the best manner possible however - you only play on it, mostly offline, and do nothing else therefore not leaving sensitive info.
there is homebrew called cmfilemanager which adds ftp support for wireless file transferring. if you set up your router firewall just right where you only allow lan connection for psp and lower security to wpa-aes on that, then it's handy for quick rom transferring without wires
>had no backdoors
I hacked my PSP by cracking open the battery when I was like 13
