US Revokes Intel/Qualcomm from Supplying Huawei Chips

A few days after Huawei took the first place from Apple in terms of smartphone market share in China, as well as Apple dropping market share worldwide and Huawei slowly rising.

The entire world should go to war with the USA and I'm not kidding. All nations would benefit from this except Mexico, Canada, Israel, and South Korea. The EU would benefit. The UK would benefit. BRICS would benefit. China and DPRK would benefit. Japan would benefit. Russia would benefit. Both the entire middle east and Africa would benefit when their primary destabilizer ceases to exist. Again you are assuming that the world needs a ''world police'' going around invading and bombing other countries, like it is some natural state of being for big powers, other countries aren't as barbaric as yours, your country goes around bombing and invading not because of the ''world police'' meme but because your political system is hopelessly corrupt and gives war profiteers free hand to buy politicians, which is not something that can happen in China.

Also China historically has been one of the most restrained great powers in history, they wouldn't go around invading and bombing like you do if the US disappeared tomorrow, that's just what yanks tell themselves to feel better about the anti-human warprofiteering ghoulish state they live under, again it's just a coping mechanism

So how many billions will Intel lose now? They've been losing $30B a year with $50B a year in subsidies. Instead of piecemeal sanctioning China, why not cut Intel off from China completely, and just give Intel $100B a year to cover all the financial losses?

      Anonymous

Why not just let Intel die since it can't compete instead of floating it with taxpayer money. I thought this was capitalism.

        >Why not just let Intel die

USA needs a foot in the semiconductors race. Right now, it's Taiwan/Korea leading. US is hanging by a thread. If they're out, then China will step in and replace them.

It's sorta like "Why isn't Boeing dead?". Boeing SHOULD be dead. They've been bailed out a ton of times. But they're competing with Europe's Airbus for aviation dominance. If they let Boeing die, then Europe will take over 90% of market share. It's why Boeing can get away with 2+ assassinations and their new planes breaking up mid air.

Same reason why the American auto industry keeps getting bailed out, to the tune of tens of billions every year. If American auto is out, then it's China/Japan/Korea/Germany.

"Key" industries can't die. So they say 'frick it" with quality and keep getting free US money.

          Anonymous

So basically, everyone does everything better than America, and their companies can't keep themselves afloat due to lack of innovation or poor management, so they rely on government subsidies like welfare state babies.

          Christ thats fricking sad.

They just do the bare minimum because they know they'll get the handouts cash.
But of course that's not enough so they will also keep chasing the "better productivity" meme by cutting even more corners and finding new ways to swindle workers while pocketing any of the saved money.

Corruption in america is so bad, it makes third world corruption in africa sounded better.

There's a reason why GM is colloquially called "Government Motors", because of how many times the government had to bail them out.

Ever since Japanese cars entered the US in the 60's, the US couldn't compete. The US relied on protectionist policies in order to actually sell their cars. Since China was a huge market, and had no industry of their own many decades ago, the only places the US could sell their cars to was to themselves and China. Their cars sold poorly everywhere else.

But now that China is making some of the best electric vehicles, several US auto brands have pulled out of China because they're going bankrupt.

Within the next few years, all American car brands other than Tesla will leave China. But as long as the US keep the protectionism of their home domestic markets up, they will continue to survive. They might not make money, but the US government will always be there to bail them out, again. Only the American consumers suffer. Because without competition, there would be no innovation. And the car companies can just keep the prices high, while elsewhere, people can buy cheaper and better cars, because they have to innovate, or else they'll go bankrupt.

To be fair the EU was subsiding Air bus for a good while.

tbh some geopolitically importantly industries basically require government assistance to compete because everyone else is also giving government assistance.

            Anonymous

Yeah, every country subsidizes in one way or another. The issue is how they actually use the subsidies. In terms of Boeing, they just pocket the money, and keep cutting costs because they want to maximize profits and line the pockets of shareholders.
