A linux distro doesn't necessarily, inherently, have any proprietary software but proprietary drivers. Proprietary drivers are the most harmless kind of proprietary software, they can't even run, much less compromise you in any way, unless you actually have the hardware that the drivers will match to, and if you do, you shouldn't, if the drivers are proprietary then the reason is inevitably that the matching hardware features anti-user design in one way or another that makes it impractical to write a libre driver, and hardware like that already restricts your user freedoms in and of itself, drivers be damned.
