20 an hour for the late 90s? that's pretty good actually. hell, that's not terrible nowadays. and how do you know it's unskilled? not like being an office monkey requires all that much effort.

      Anonymous

skilled is about the level of education/certificates required to do the job not the amount of effort. most office monkey jobs require at least a bachelors so they would be more "skilled" than a construction worker job but nobody would argue that being a coal miner is a lot harder.

It'd be 38 an hour in modern funny money if 1998 20 dollars. I doubt you'd get $20 an hour for construction work in texas in 1998 though

      >20$ a month
      >mfw 16k in my country's currency
      >mfw it's more than a doctor's payment
      >mfw with just 5k you csn live like a king here
homosexual amerifats want 10 thousand dollars to sit on their fat obese asses

You guys usually get a tradeoff of cheap as frick medical and, depending on the country, less moronic rent.

$28+, that was being in the laborers union. anything over 8 was OT. there was no such thing as working less than 8, unless bad weather.

construction is full of addicts, criminals, idiots and the unprepared. given his education and stable life foundation he'd be a foreman in a year. as a foreman he be making at least 4x his non-specialized labor. he'd be hunched over plans in the shade talking to leads.

Ive never watched office space but its why I dont work office jobs. Its also why if a job annoys me i run the i dont care any day i could quit or get fired.
I give my employers 200 percent for 3 months if everythings good it stays that way if they suck I slowly change accordingly to their actions until i go on the tweener frick this place gimmick.
Currently running the gimmick again Ive made multiple people quit because they hate the place too

Why are Americans so obsessed with worshipping the place they work?
I was watching clips of the US Office and holy frick they're obsessed. Pretending as if working some dead end 9 to 5 office job is fulfilling and fun because the heckin manager is le funny and you can do epic prankarinos and all your work colleagues are like your best friends and will do anything for you

isn't the whole joke in the Office that the place they work is completely unfulfilling soulless dying company and their manager is incompetent

Construction is the same except outdoors and you are wageslaving so that the foreman manager engineers and architects can afford new boats while they chill in their air coonditioned offices or trailers. Congrats dude you got slave pay to put up a new shitty apartment complex that you cant even afford to live in.

Boomers literally believe this meme that manual labor is better than a cushy office job. When I graduated high school my dad talked me out of going to college and said to get into construction. After 1 of coming home in pain and being so tired I couldn't do anything, I quit and went to community college. Now I have a job where I shitpost on IQfy all day while maybe clicking a few buttons and I make 3x what my dad ever has. He still continually seethes about it to this day.

What do you do now anon? I'm thinking about dedicating two years to getting a degree at a cc as well just to get my foot in the door at a job that doesn't leave me crippled at 40. Not sure what though.

NTA but just go into CC and then transfer to some state school after 2 years to get a cybersecurity degree for a cushy job

is that 2 years at cc and then 2 years at a state school?

Construction wagies get paid by the hour. Pete was a salarycuck so everytime Lundy made him work weekends he was probably barely making more than Aniston.
