He was an anti-federalist and borderline anarchist.
We cannot allow anyone in this nation to remember the role that he played in the revolution and the nations founding, otherwise they might realize that the US has become a dictatorship and doesn't even slightly resemble what it was meant to be. Plus, Jefferson advocated for violence for political change. We can't resort to violence in America when the government becomes too large and stops listening to the people, it's the current year for Christs sake.

          Anonymous

You can, just some people don't want to admit it. "I consent and want this to happen" There. Easy.

Also I'd like to take this moment to note the elephant in the room that women totally get off on the idea of fricking the most powerful/wealthy man in the area. Also older men. Also often being degraded or being submissive in a dominant relationship. Hell women are known to orgasm during their own damn rapes. One of the biggest envies of the holocaust for women were the girls that got to sleep with the concentration camp guards and therefore got special treatment. Women historically adapt to marriage with their actual for real rapists and/or the men that killed their previous husband in conquest.

This alone gives you an educated guess that the average slave girl would in fact be pretty psyched to sleep with the slave master of the estate. So long as he's not so cruel and horrifically ugly. Hell I would think that would be pretty hot so long as my slave mistress was at least kind of milfy - and I'm not even a woman. Let's be real, Sally was probably making all the other slave girls jealous and was doing backflips that she pulled massa.

Did he rape slaves or just have affairs with slaves? Is it possible to have a non-coercive relationship with someone you own?

        Anonymous

IMO it’s complicated. Not all sexual relations between masters and slaves is rape. But of course it’s pretty tainted by the nature of the relationship.

I’m sure there were plenty of masters and slaves who actually had loving relationships. But the power dynamics kind of preclude the woman reasonably saying no in such a scenario.

It’s the same way that sure, there are college professors who had completely consensual sex with their students. But morally it’s wrong. At worst it’s coercive.

Imagine that dynamic times a thousand. Because the person literally owns you. If you say no, what happens?

        Anonymous

Technically speaking yes, but there's always the *implication* so you basically can't ever know.

By many views, no. There is a balance of power which would make it impossible to determine if they were really willing, semi willing, or unwilling, because of either subtle or overt threats that would go along with refusing.

A less convincing version of this you hear a lot nowadays is when people apply the same logic to girls who want to sleep with their favorite musicians. But I don’t think it works in that situation, it just pushes the ironically sexist narrative that women have no personal agency

Jefferson had a romantic love affair with a slave of his, Sally Hemmings.
Modern day wokoids point out that this is statutory rape because of the power imbalance.
So then they go full force and call him a rapist and thus undermining the victims of actual rape by saying that a consensual love affair is as bad as being held down and forced upon in an alleyway is as bad as a consensual love affair.

He was a pedophile rapist racist white man. Symbolic of the many traumas America would go on to endure

    >During his lifetime, Jefferson owned over 600 slaves, who were kept in his household and on his plantations. Since Jefferson's time, controversy has revolved around his relationship with Sally Hemings, a mixed-race enslaved woman, and his late wife's half-sister.[11] According to DNA evidence from surviving descendants and oral history, Jefferson fathered at least six children with Hemings, including four that survived to adulthood.[12] Evidence suggests that Jefferson started the relationship with Hemings when they were in Paris, some time after she arrived there at the age of 14 or 15, when Jefferson was 44. By the time she returned to the United States at 16 or 17, she was pregnant

Most states with low ages of consent consider it statury rape if the older partner was "n a position of authority or something like that. Obviously the case in jeffersons case, but the fact that she was a slave basically makes everything illegal already by modern law.
Jefferson was definitely a horndog with no moral compunctions in that regard, but for all we know he treated sally hemmings well. And it should be remembered that marriages arranged without the womans consent, with considerable age differences, were common at the time.

True. But statutory rape isn’t always considered pedophilia. I think specifically pedos like pre pubescent kids. So by modern standards Jefferson was a sex offender statutory rapist but not a pedo

This mentality is why the US is headed for an ethnic cleansing.

Black folk could have had equal rights and even affirmative action, but that just wasn't enough. Whites are divided and timid at the moment. But when they get pushed far enough the reaction is going to make the Holocaust look like the kid gloves.

Oh dear. Are Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity not quite what you'd hoped? What a shame! I'm quite sure there must be some committee or legislature somewhere that will listen attentively to your complaints on the subject.

            >It hasn’t always been this way. Between 1998 and 2003 reducing child poverty was a national priority – a comprehensive Government strategy and substantive investment in children saw the number of children trapped in poverty fall by 600,000 in only a few years. However, concerningly, in 2016 child poverty targets set out in the Child Poverty Act 2010 and the Government’s duty to meet the targets, were scrapped. Subsequent changes to welfare policy and cuts to support services have pushed thousands more families below the breadline.

            >Work does not provide a guaranteed route out of poverty in the UK; the rapidly expanding gig economy, insecure employment, rising living costs and the growing cost of childcare is placing added pressure on working families struggling to keep afloat. Most children and young people growing up in poverty – 75% of the 4.3 million – live in a household were at least one person works.

            >Currently, child poverty is on the rise. A recent NEU member survey found that over half of respondents have seen an increase in child poverty at their school or college since March 2020, the start of the first national lockdown. The latest research from the Resolution Foundation predicts that by the next General Election, 730,000 more children and young people will be caught in poverty’s grip.

"They were saying a lot of rude things to me. Just picking on me. So I sprayed myself with perfume. Then they said: 'Put that away, that's the most terrible smell I've ever smelled.' Then the teacher called the police."

            >The policeman didn't have far to come. He patrols the corridors of Sarah's school, Fulmore Middle in Austin, Texas. Like hundreds of schools in the state, and across large parts of the rest of the US, Fulmore Middle has its own police force with officers in uniform who carry guns to keep order in the canteens, playgrounds and lessons. Sarah was taken from class, charged with a criminal misdemeanour and ordered to appear in court.

            >Each day, hundreds of schoolchildren appear before courts in Texas charged with offences such as swearing, misbehaving on the school bus or getting in to a punch-up in the playground. Children have been arrested for possessing cigarettes, wearing "inappropriate" clothes and being late for school

            >In 2010, the police gave close to 300,000 "Class C misdemeanour" tickets to children as young as six in Texas for offences in and out of school, which result in fines, community service and even prison time. What was once handled with a telling-off by the teacher or a call to parents can now result in arrest and a record that may cost a young person a place in college or a job years later

Oh dear. Are Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity not quite what you'd hoped? What a shame! I'm quite sure there must be some committee or legislature somewhere that will listen attentively to your complaints on the subject.

The UK has been removing statues too so it's not like a monarchy stops it either.

You get what you deserve. It's poetic to see the Black person coddlers destroyed by their own pets. History will remember them all as monsters.

White liberals self-insert as guys like jefferson and lincoln. But take note; brownoids don't fricking care and barely differentiate you and a "racist" white. Blacks will screech for the removal of Lincoln too.
