WHAT A FRICKING PIECE OF SHIT! FU MS!

Why the FRICK is anyone using this bloated, unreliable, crashing piece of jeetcode bullshit, which doesn't even have a good search for fricking chats, despite being a fricking chat tool while 10000 other chat tools exist that do the same shit but 1000x better!? I would literally prefer using fricking ICQ or even the piece of shit that Skype is! WHAT THE FRICKING FRICK

What I love is how it uses ALT+ENTER for linebreaks (just like Excel) and not the near-universal LCTRL+ENTER.
The place I work at uses it. Terrible, shithouse software. Even the standalone isn't really a standalone anymore. Another shitty, badly coded app.

This would be a valid critism a yera ago but after they ditched electron, performance increased 2x while memory consumptions reduced to 50%.

The usability is still absolute dogshit. Switching between companies is very unreliable and very buggy, which makes it horrible to use for freelancers like me. The rights management is completely ridiculous - as a freelancer I randomly can't open fricking files people are sending me. I already mentioned the search fc**tion which doesnt even deserve to be called that, by I WANT TO EMPHASIZE WHAT A PILE OF DISGUSTING STEAMING CURRY DIARRHOE IT IS. The fricking chat preview sometimes just doesn't update, the fricking mobile app is missing so many settings, I CAN'T STOP FRICKING RANTING ABOUT HOW FRICKING AWFUL THIS SHIT IS AND THEY ARE CHARGING COMPANIES SO MUCH MONEY FOR THAT WHAT THE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    >despite being a fricking chat tool
It's a frontend for Sharepoint, the chat functionality was an afterthought after people demanded one be added.
I had to sit through two days of training after my company decided to start using it and the only good thing about it was the marketing BS.

I work with many companies which all invite me to their dogshit pissfrick MS teams and every single one of them is configurated in a slightly different fricked up crap way and none of these abominations work or are used in an somewhat efficient way.

    Channels in Teams suck.
People only ever look at chats because channels are in a separate tab.
Can't even @ people if they're not part of a conversation.
The only reason companies use Teams over Slack is cost-reduction.

It's terrible. I struggle with it too, friend.

      >The only reason companies use Teams over Slack is cost-reduction.
Wrong. Teams is pushed aggressively all the way down from the governmental level. Most countries in the EU are run on Teams! I am not fricking joking. It's that bad. The MoDs in Germany and Poland coordinate super important shit on Teams chat and it's not secure in the least. The IT support for Teams deployments universally do not understand what they're doing, through no fault of their own because MS docs aren't reflective of actual function, and give out all sorts of privileged access to people who should not have it. Data integrity doesn't exist at all. Audit trails are both extremely verbose and incomplete. The backend locations are not secure. It's going to lead to a serious happening and there's nothing anyone can do about it because the entire EU is too invested in it to change.

        >Most countries in the EU are run on Teams!
because they already had business contracts with Microsoft for exchange/office365 and Microsoft includes Teams in those contracts. Nobody is going to pay extra for Slack when they are already getting Teams for free.

in the US defense industry, if your company is on GCC High or DoD, the microsoft stack does mesh very well with the needs for data residency compliance and ITAR compliance
        >all ITAR data must be housed on US territory
        >only US persons (there is an extremely strict definition of this) are allowed to handle the data
        >plus the way this meshes among the other microsoft office products that absolutely every real company is using
slack, atlassian cloud stuff, yadda yadda do not have *as good* support of this stuff

        https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/office-365-us-government/gcc-high-and-dod

however: if you are not doing this type of work, yeah, Slack is so much better.

The entire global financial, transportation, and manufacturing systems are held up by a handful of 97-2003 excel spreadsheets and letting multiple people view and edit them at once in teams is the only thing keeping your lights on, pantry stocked, and pay checks coming regularly.
Destroying teams would unironically usher in a global economic collapse the world has no way to prepare for. Literally back to medieval times.

    >literal moron can't figure out how to use simple corporate chat software
Want to know how I know? Because you're not complaining about its actual issues, including changes to the UI that elevated the number of clicks required to attach a file to a chat from two-three (attach file, select file, open or hit enter) to four-five (+, attach file, upload from this device, select file, open or hit enter), AV issues like it not recognizing when default communication device is different from default device or its device selector not overruling a default communication device selection, or message update synchronization. No, you're moronic because you're reporting your inability to use a simple search feature.
