Seconded. It's such a pity that protestants chose to leave that one out. Same with the Book of Wisdom, that is to Proverbs what Epictetus' Discourses were to his Enchiridion
I like the one with the giant guy who shows vulnerability in front of some hot sorceress or whatever and lets her cut his hair which causes him to lose all his strength.
This is the meme answer but unironically my favorite story in the Bible. Serious contenders are >Genesis >Exodus >Judges >1 & 2 Kings >Job >Ecclesiastes >Lamentations (highly underrated) >Gospels >Revelations
There's so many it is impossible to choose, but the Gospels are obviously very literary. The book of Ruth is a strong contender, and so are the stories of Joseph in Genesis and the Saul-David-Solomon arc as well (but I even love the smaller stories like Nehemiah—which requires the context of Jeremiah perhaps).
>What are the best bible stories, from a IQfy standpoint?
Nehemiah. Stripey socks Engineer rebuilds temple. Then almost gets forced to enter the "Men's Toilet" of the temple. Goes back home and gets fricked by the Emperor of Baghdad.
Book of Tobit
one of the best IMO

Skip it and grab Nag Hammadi

Judges is fire.
>In those days there was no king in Israel, every man did what was right in his own eyes.
But where did they get their morals from? How did they even know what was right?
that's why they failed, bro. Read it.
Sampson…
Book of Job. When I read it I dreamt murder of the king
Job is really good. God willingly putting his best man through hell in a deal with the devil is interesting af.
The one where the bears tear the children to pieces for making fun of some bald headed gay
Highwaymen, not children.
they are described as young
And? They were youths, teenagers. Most men were fighting men by that age. They were murderers and thieves who were about to kill a prophet of God.
Sure thing, Moshe.
The f__d around and found out. Many such cases.

The Old Testament is reddit slop
I like Naboth’s Vineyard
Seeing how the great apostles dropped like flies after Jesus left in the most gruesome deaths is a fun read, with the exception of John the Apostle.
Jonah, Joseph and Samson
Judith, for the chosen people.
Did not pass the sniff test. Catholics should be embarrassed to think that's canon.
Who's sniffer?

I think IQfy should give The Good Samaritan a read.
>”man of god” did not stop to help
>a “good” man of a good background didn’t help
>The outcast minority was the only person to help
And guess who God favors?

Saint Paul's life.
The Gospel of John and the Book of Job are the Pillar and the Stone of all later Western literature
Just as a story, probably Ruth.
The Gospels
The Gospel of John is more alive than any other written work in human history
