Idk what kind of shit do you like to read
I primarily read the lit adjacent stuff on break, the letters and essays of writers that I like, i can read a few letters or an essay in its entirety on break. I don't like reading longer works in short little fits. Sometimes I also read short stories but generally not.
HG Wells
Sherlock Holmes
CS Lewis' Space Trilogy
Master and Margarita by all means.
Plays are good for work breaks, mainly because of the act/scene system.
Lord of the Rings.
Chuck Palahniuk.
A Clockwork Orange.
Metaphors we Live by.
>Lord of the Rings.
>Chuck Palahniuk.
midwit
>reading to look smart
>having so little awareness of self and the world
When reading in public there is a certain pragmatism required, reading things like lotr and Chucky P. tends to attract the sort of people who read in public as a social ploy. The key to successfully reading in public is too read things which have a certain amount of disconnect from popular culture, those works which most who know will realize you are reading to read and your book is not just some pathetic fertility statue. Generally you want to avoid things which are too removed from popular culture, such works generally attract the most pathetic sorts, those lacking in awareness. Pornography is best read in private.
idk man. I think you should have a nice day
All of these books are worthless drivel (and no, I don't need to read the books to know this)
KJV
NIV
New Jerusalem
Capital
II Rubin's economics

Titus Andronicus
Ordinary Men
Robert Graves (WHILE jerking off, ESPECIALLY TO KING JESUS, BUT YOU HAVE TO READ WHITE GODDESS FIRST)
GOOD LIST!
Literally anything. But maybe in an hour you could dig into some short story collections. Check out some by Tolstoy, Chekhov, Hardy, Kafka or Borges. All of them are masters.
the dwarf
the long ship
the adventures of Jonathan corncob
Tom Jones
flashman papers
Simplicissimus
just finished salammbo, it had very rich descriptions of stuff and wasnt too complicated narrative-wise so you would probably enjoy it in short break increments.
