What fictional character has suffered the most?

I think my vote has to go to sinners in the hell of abrahamic religion. Constant agonizing torture for eternity has to be the worst possible fate, I can't think of anything worse.

Never thought about this before but is Satan supposed to be suffering in hell or is he just running it?

No he's not ruling in Hell. That's just poetical license from ports, not an actual belief. The Bible explicitly says Satan is roaming the Earth and is a ruler on Earth. He was in the Garden of Eden when he tempted Eve. He was there when he tempted Job, and answered God about where he's been "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it." He was in the desert when he tempted Jesus. Satan is actually a real creature in the world right now. Where he is currently we don't know.

        14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15But you are brought down to Sheol,
to the far reaches of the pit.
16Those who see you will stare at you
        and ponder over you:
‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
        who shook kingdoms,
17who made the world like a desert
        and overthrew its cities,
who did not let his prisoners go home?’
18All the kings of the nations lie in glory,
        each in his own tomb;d
19but you are cast out, away from your grave,
        like a loathed branch,
clothed with the slain, those pierced by the sword,
who go down to the stones of the pit,
like a dead body trampled underfoot.
20You will not be joined with them in burial,
because you have destroyed your land,
        you have slain your people.

Where is the Bible did you find a reference to hell that matches Dante's description, or any other depiction of hell being a place of eternal torment?

Characters in Berserk who have a strong sense of the setting's cosmology refer to Guts as someone who has slipped form the currents of causality. He's likened to being merely a trout which can leap from causalities rivers, but still, clearly he's managed some wiggle room. The Slug Baron also refuses to sacrifice his daughter after Puck's behalit brings him before the Godhand. Even though Behelits are intimately connected to causality, their users are clearly still able to make a choice. I wouldn't call Berserk's cosmology strictly determinist, even with the themes of nihilism and prophecy present within the story.

I think the point of this chapter specifically is the fact that humanity is responsible for it´s own suffering

Remember this quote ?“In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the Hand Of God hovering above? At least it is true that man has no control, even over his own will.” – Kento Miura. This might be one of the best berserk quotes. It was said none other by our late “Kento Miura”.
Google it or use a search.
I need to reread and do research more on theories etc.
Yeah he refused but what happened to him?was not he punished?after this by the apostles?.

Well, until the ending and epilogue our discussion will walk in circles,so i just want to drop a link to read Berserk.
Did not Skull Knight said that Guts is like a fish trying to do is best that he can?

If you count every fictional character, it would be picrel. He has and is dying in every single way possible. This includes getting raped by horses, stepping on a piece of lego, and anything you can think of really.

Mohammed (not fictional) in Dante's Inferno. Narrowminded Catholics cannot understand the true word of our lord, and I'm sure Dante is suffering for his ignorance in a punishment as fitting to his own imagination as I type this for not recognising the true prophet.
