Crack is not just poison to the body but also to the demons inhabiting your body.
It forces them out for a while, allowing you to think without the influence of evil and feel the bliss of paradise for a moment.

Can you honestly say that quantum mechanics, necessary to explain modern electronics, couldn't be witchcraft?

        Anonymous

QM is needed to explain any physical phenomena. Electronics are nothing special in that regard.

          Anonymous

Things like semiconductors are more directly linked to QM then shit like gears.

            Anonymous

Gears work because of electrostatic repulsion.

            Anonymous

Most things at a macro scale work because of the laws of large numbers. Sure, quantum processes live underneath, but the majority of things we experience are disconnected, living at the average of the micro-processes.

No, the only witchcraft is that everything you see in society is never the product of a single person's work. Everything is the result of dozens, hundreds, thousands, and sometimes millions or billions of bugmen of various intelligences and skill levels competing and cooperating because they have social instincts (sex, validation, etc.) but also because they need to survive and get paid. Once you understand this, there will be no mystery about how this stuff is possible. It's not possible for a single person, yes. Not even for a small group. But for millions of people each doing their part like bugmen NPCs? It's easy, then.

      Anonymous

NPCs have instincts that make cooperation appealing, sometimes even necessary. They also want to be controlled by a narcissistic psychopath aka "the boss," and even the men desire that, not just the women. That's the magic OP is hinting at.

Sorcery maybe by magical input of course. Looking at a black mirror (search for it) and using locked hardware by the master of puppets have some daily influence in the world. Internet as a way of wiring the brain at will with "cultural informations" is the most practical way of magical influences by Black folk in power.

Magic meaning physically impossible technology is a recent thing. Divination is considered a joke but then you have huge amounts of money being poured into projection modeling for literally everything. Fricking scientists are sitting around casting digital dice to predict the weather days in advance and the climate centuries forward.

Would be a kinda unique fantasy magic/tech system for a game or movie or something.
There are ancient rituals that invoke magic, that involves stuff like dancing in circles or creating bursts of fire, and then a civilization figures out that they can minimize these rituals by replacing the circle-dance with tiny electrons going around in a spiral wire, or the bursts of fire with a little blinking LED. And so they create these intricate circuits, kind of like our CPUs, except that it's the millions of miniature ritualistic movements in the circuits that create powerful and complex magic, rather than the electricity itself doing anything useful.

meh there's a pretty clear development path for the microprocessor, so if it were reverse engineered alien tech it seems unlikely. All those buildings full of tube transistors might not have been necessary?

Most neural nets are made to find hyperdimensional functions. It's just what they do from a mathematical point of view.
