Smell-o-vision
>1 camera
>e ink display
>5.5 inch screen
>3.5mm jack with a good dac
that's it
This already exists with a hisense a5/9, I just wish their bands would be reliable outside of chinkland
yeah but I'm not buying chink shit. I'd also throw in a sliding keyboard for fun
If phones didn't use toy CPUs most people probably wouldn't need to buy a computer. It would BOTH save people money short/long term and help the environment by preventing so much e-waste from becoming a thing in the first place. Instead of say a laptop you would just have a portable monitor and when you upgrade you would only have to get a new phone but not a new display. Less waste/pollution.
Nah, let's have mountains of e-waste polluting the environment driving people into poverty because profits matter more.
Headphone jack
No shitty curved edge screens
No camera notches or holes
Smartphone is defective by design. It's designed to be thrown away after 2-3 years. There's no software updates and internal memory is fricked because of excessive write. You can't even replace them.
And yes, you'll buy a new phone, every year.
GrapheneOS promises me 5 years of updates
I only buy a phone ever 5 years. And besides they don't need to be bad. They're designed to be bad
>buy phone for $250
>sell for $100
>put $150 more to get a new one every two and a half years
I mean yeah it should be better than this, but that's not quite bad unless you are under 18 or a NEET barely able to survive. I don't get changing phones every year either though.
>internal memory is fricked because of excessive write
Optane could have fixed that but thanks to Intel's room temp IQ marketing department it never happened.
>4 inch or smaller screen
>fat removable battery
>headphone jack
>OS that functions without cloudslop
headphone jack
sd card slot
removable battery
ACPI+UEFI
easily unlockable bootloader
Phones where perfected in 2017 and been going downhill ever since
based
lets see your snapchat quality
I have a Pixel 6, I said based because that anon deserves respect for still rocking a Moto G5 in 2024
>Snapchat
frick off you Supreme wearing homosexual
I can see i've touched a nerve
normal people get cellular service
you get incellular service
I bet that joke sounded hilarious to you
Your life is funnier
underage homosexual
18+ site, bucko
How is the experience nowadays? I still use an iphone 8 as a daily and it came out the same year but I feel like the android experience will not be the same with a phone that old.
smartphones peaked in 2014
>not galaxy s5
I really dug the look of the m9 back then
>that humongous bottom bezel with the logo on it
no thanks, everything else look decent though
most of them had hughmungus bezels, I think google is the only one who didn't slap a logo on it to cover the illusion
controversial iteration but it was peak HTC for me. Shame it did not resonate well with the audiences
based. Apple is now literally the only one still selling a 2017 era phone but with modern internals.
remove them from existence
>jack + SD
>stereo front firing speakers
>no front camera
>slide-out keyboard (horizontal or vertical)
>no glue for the rear panel
And some personal niceties for me
>notification led
>16:9 or 16:10 screen
>both IPS and OLED options
>at least 90hz
>FM radio
>easily configurable performance profiles
keyboard really?
I'm so used to screen keyboards now and swipe typing I think I'd be slower with the physical one. Tiny buttons.
I managed to keep using physical keyboards up to a couple of years ago with the Fxtec Pro1. Swiping and suggestions are fast but I just really like the tactile feel of a real keyboard. The old blackberry keyboard buttons never felt that small to me either
Sony Xperia's top end gets pretty close to this other than the keyboard or removable battery/no glue rear.
>no front camera
tell me you're a lonely incel without tell me
my phone literally does everything i need it to do THOUGH i'd be happy to have a solid state battery or 30hz+ eink display
Smaller. I want it to fit in my pocket.
install gentoo
Make it run faster
Make it use less power
Make it spy less
Make it ad-less.
iPhone 12 mini or Xperia xz2 compact form factor
Popup or under screen front camera
3.5mm jack
Micro SD card slot
At least 4 years of updates
There needs to be better open-source launchers available. That's about it.
Geiger counter so I can go around detecting radiation levels
?si=&t=71
>replaceable battery
>micro sd card slot
>force all android manufacturers to use google messages as their default sms app (this will help with RCS services)
>force lazy app devs to properly utilize camera API instead of taking a screenshot of the viewfinder (will fix horrible camera quality on apps like snapchat & Instagram)
>easy universal method to root & unlock any bootloader (super easy to root a pixel compared to a samsung or Huawei)
>make sure fatties, trannies, & Black folk aren't allowed to purchase
Easily swappable batteries that can be charged via usb outside the phone.
we let phones get really big now i want them to get really small. i want an ipod nano sized phone
>removable batteries
>unlocked bootloader and factory root access
>revamp every keyboarded BB10 and Android BlackBerry as well as the hits from BBOS7 and earlier
>Bring back BB10 with full updated Android support
>no camera bumps
>IR blaster
>eInk back like YotaPhones
Removable battery
3.5mm
Micro sd card slot
Popup front camera
Slider to physically close back camera's
Trackball like in the old htc desire
DP over usb-c and desktop environment
Foldable physical keyboard
The perfect phone for me right now would be similar to a smaller Pixel 8 (Pro) (maybe 5.5-6 in or so) with more power efficient CPU, less sharp edge on the camera bar, dual sim (but with option for all combinations of physical / eSim), micro SD card slot, headphone jack, easier replaceable battery (not glued together, maybe screws or something). Additionally, I would appreciate it if the USB-C port finally gets DisplayPort mode activated in software, so it can be used like DEX, just with less moronic software.
In general, I am very happy with recent Google phones, the least amount of trouble I ever had with phones and I enjoy the look and feel.
personally i don't see any reason to upgrade and i'm a consoomergay, even for people like me who want shiny new thing, its harder to get excited for these identical rectangular pieces of glass and metal. only gimmicks make these things fun again from a tech consoomer lifestyle, i've been interested in folding phones but still haven't commited to buying one.
>5.8" 1080p OLED screen, don't care about high refresh rate
>5000mAh battery, at least 50W fast charging, don't care about wireless charging
>efficient and powerful enough SoC, doesn't have to be high end
>stock Android, OS updates for 5 years
>IP67 or IP68 waterproof
>side-mounted fingerprint reader, I don't like in-display ones
>small bezels, small centered hole-punch selfie cam
>decent camera with OIS
>soft-touch/matte plastic build to keep weight down and make it grippy
>stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack
>400€
This thread is why you don't leave luddites in charge of anything.
I want a small factor phone not A FRICKING MASSIVE ELECTRONIC SLAB YOU STUPID FRICKING MANUFACTURERS I JUST SEND MESSAGES I DONT WANT THE IMAX EXPERIENCE IN MY POCKET YOU c**tS
Smartphones are literally just cameras with a web browser and social media apps, Just get rid of them and put Android+SIM on mirrorless cameras.
Woman sex
- bigger battery, not necessarily bigger screen, the phone should be made "thicker"
- audio jack
- memory expansion via SD
- Dual sim + esim for every smartphone
- at least a couple of usbc
- notification led
an S23 ultra with those would sell a lot
also no glue build could be much better
IQ certification test to use one. Fingerprint scanner repurposed as paper bag test.
- flat backside
- rectangular 5 inch screen
- bigger battery
- replaceable battery
- non-slip material
- headphone jack
- SD card slot
It's almost unbelievable how bad phones are nowadays
>- flat backside
Aren't all phones flat once you put them in a case?
x86 CPU with a small active cooler. Phones could be like 100 times more useful/fun if they didn't use toy CPUs. I don't care if the battery only lasts 5 hours, just make those 5 hours as productive/fun as possible.
I'm fricking sick of these gimped/neutered bullshit "apps". We all know they suck donkey dick compared to even windows xp software from 20 years ago because the toy CPUs in phones aren't actually that powerful due to consuming very low power.
the cpus are fine. Stop trying to edit 4k movies on a phone
Sapphire front glass. 8000+ mah on flagmans.
3.5mm jack
My S23 would be better with a sd slot. The cost difference between getting a 128gb and 256gb model is the same as what a 1tb sd card costs.
5 inch screen, microSD slot, 3.5mm jack
NO FRONT FACING CAMERA
