Hatred is just a reversed form of worship, and the South was founded on the worship of Black folk. They woke up thinking about Black folk, and went to bed dreaming of them. Every waking moment of the southerner's life was spent living in awe and fear of the Black. No matter if he was actually powerless, the southron would make up the tallest tales to exaggerate it to Herculean heights; almost as if he were a medieval chronicler extolling the virtues of his king.
There's no point in explaining it, it's simple mass psychosis. The South was insane, and no price was too high to pay to keep as many blacks in the country as possible so they could use them as their person Helots; to be slaughtered on a wim.
They actually didn't exist to the average person. They were part of the background and generally easy to ignore. Nobody wanted them in the US, save the burgeoning capitalist class profiting from their exploitation. You should bait less and read more.
>Black folk steal white labor and suppress wages when “loaned out” by their owners >held numerous jobs, weren’t just cotton pickers and maids/butlers >literally came up with recipes white people took credit for >the bedrock of Southern society through and through
Yeah they were “easy to ignore” alright >You should bait less and read more.
Oh the irony
The war and the perception of slavery by the average citizen are two different things. Stowe's 1852 novel and the anti-Tom literature paint a very different picture of the period. As does Douglass' interpretation of the constitution - note how it differs radically from Taney in the Dred Scott decision (he didn't just fabricate it ex nihilo, it was justified, despite motivated reasoning). It's a bit more complicated than >muh Black person worshiping south.

True but they didn't exist in the background, there were millions of them and were central to the ongoing issue of slavery in America

Remember the size of the continent. Virginia and Georgia had the largest concentration of documented slaves in 1860 (>450,000, but keep in mind the one-drop-rule and the existence of white slaves). White antipathy started after the publication of serial slave rebellions (Nat Turner, for example). Stowe's novel was meant to humanize and rehabilitate the image of black slaves. The vast majority of the non-owners treated them with indifference (petit-bourgeois). The real hate came from white sharecroppers and tenant-farmers.

So the civil war/reconstruction changed the perception towards blacks for the average person? The KKK rose up from commoners

NTA, but the rhetoric of the Confederacy was predicated mostly on justified fear.

give people an extremely strong reason to hate you, and you'll end up being afraid of them – maybe so afraid that you will put a sheet over your head and start shooting children and schoolteachers in the night
>claim whitey is the devil >make it illegal for him to live apart from you
Really what blacks want is all black cities that they can frick around in, and whites show up at 7am to clean up their messes, fix the infrastructure, leave behind fried chicken, and leave before they wake up at 11am.

The sheer ignorance is impressive.

>nobody wanted them
They fought a civil war

This is an insane statement to make of the South
>racism gets censored here
LOL
Awful post
Touch grass
If you spent less time advising others to touch grass, you might develop a personality. Just a thought.
I live in a major american city where blacks commit violence like it’s a bodily function, id rather not
the only correct answer in this entire thread.
This is just the whites natural behavior
You can give them Greek philopshy roman civilization still doesn't change what they are under neath
its amazing "racism" gets censored here and shit like this is allowed to stay. simply amazing.
Cope
give people an extremely strong reason to hate you, and you'll end up being afraid of them – maybe so afraid that you will put a sheet over your head and start shooting children and schoolteachers in the night
fear that the carefully maintained illusion of black subhumanity will fall apart
Desire to see the carefully maintained illusion of black humanity fall apart
A shame they didn't get them all.
McKinley was really dumb to appoint Baker to that position as postmaster in a white town knowing what was likely to happen.
> knowing what was likely to happen.
What was likely to happen?
Reminder that gang culture is the fault of whitey. If whites just let blacks get jobs and go to school, blacks wouldn’t have been poor. Unironically

black people were mad because "separate but equal" facilities weren't equal, and probably never would be
#
Obviously, because they were maintained by blacks. Same reason everything in black majority neighborhoods are shit *today*
Wait nm it’s racism that causes Jamal to litter and LaFreaquish to never repair her house.
