      Davinci Resolve
if you're poor and want to do it bit harder then Blender (+ Davinci Resolve free version)

Who the hell created demand for Davinci on linux?

Linux is actually more used in Hollywood than you might think.

Kden live and Da Vinci Resolve. If you need after effects, use QEMU KVN with GPU pass-through and have windows 10 become an OS slave in the background for Adobe.

      >GPU passthrough

Don't you need a second GPU for that?

You can run your system with 1 GPU with windows 10 slaved to your distro of choice, preferably Archbased, but it will be about 90-95% efficient.

But doesn't DaVinci Resolve require an NVIDIA GPU?

Works on AMD GPU as well, but you need amdgpu-pro proprietary drivers.

Pick between Nvidia or AMD for a gpu with a future.

Intel GPUs have the best compatibility with Linux and Wayland (which is the future), and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Wayland is why I went back to windows. Stick with windows OP.

Intel Arc is a much worse UX on Linux than Intel's IGPs.

just use krita if animation is what you need, it's in deb repos and it should have options to import images, which can be loaded into a frame timeline

Krita has decent animation system, you can even export webms from that program if you want. Painting is what they claim these days is main focus so you should at least try.

Idk why nobody is suggesting Blender.
It can be used for vfx, animation, compositing, etc.
