Commute is exclusively used to refer to "getting to work", outside of cities it even more specifically refers to "driving to work"

My commute to work per direction is:
    ~ 1 hour by bike (15 km)
~ 45 minutes by subway (10 km) (being reconstructed so not an option)
    ~ 2 hrs by tram (30 km)
~ 2-3 hrs by car (constant gridlock) (30-70 km)

Living in the city center, 10 minute walk from work.
WFH for the days that it's raining and I don't want to walk or the days I'm too hungover to show up at the office.
Also a BT helmet + earplugs when riding my bike has made it a lot more pleasurable, the bike noise makes you a lot more tired than you'd imagine. It also makes it easier to focus on the road with less noise.
To be honest, I do want an electric sports bike, it would be really cool for sure.
