There already is a Pope from the Americas. Does that count?
francis is a brown Hispanic who supports catholic communism
he is the most tradcath pope the church has had in a long time, which is why traditional catholics continue worshiping him and his move to destroy the united states from within using immigration and the converted court system
They should just move the Vatican to Rio anyway since thats where the most Catholics are.
no, but if put to a vote most mexicans would voluntarily agree to be a province of italy. They'd be paid in euros, have mandatory days off, and a functional government guaranteed by european courts. This is what he wants to do to America.
Yeah either Rio or fricking Manilla lol. More Catholics in that country than all of Europe.
They should move it to America because that's where most of the sedevacantists live.
>to Rio anyway since thats where the most Catholics are
Rio will be the evangelical vatican in 10 more years.
Actually the majority of Catholics live in Africa.
They have, several times. Most Sedevacantists believe that Ngo Dinh Thuc was the Real Pope, and there are many Sedevacantists sects and cults who have chosen their own Pope after him. Arguably the most successful are the Palmarians.

>Ngo Dinh Thuc was the Real Pope
Somehow that's even more pathetic than the Francis line tbh.
I've never heard this theory. The theory I've heard a few believe in is the Siri thesis where Cardinal Siri was the true pope.
In SEA there was a tradition of having the King's brother be made Chief Monk. This had obvious benefits for the ruling dynasty as a whole while also minimizing conflict. When the Dinh regime, which had been instated against the will of the Vietnamese by the French empire, fell, Thuc (Dinh's brother and the chief Bishop of Vietnam under the thesis that Dinh was the King of Vietnam and thus Thuc would be the chief cleric) demanded that the Pope back his claim to being Prince-Bishop of Vietnam. When the Pope didn't do that (they were already in hot enough water as it was due to the slave trading, genocide, and drug cartels stuff), Thuc declared that he was the real Pope and the Prince-Bishop of the entire world. He then bummed around Europe for awhile; eventually European Sedevacantists picked him as their Pope, and he ordained a bunch of them. Most Sede lineages trace back to him for this reason.
So European sedes are operating differently than American ones? Which groups see Thuc as a former pope? The American ones say ordinary jurisdiction of the church is gone but see Thuc as a hero for obvious reasons. American sedes don't believe anyone can bind, loose, or excommunicate anymore and many believe these are the end times.
Africa doesn't have Sedes, and Der Synodaler Weg is basically "the Catholic Bishops of Europe". These two groups are different from Sedes. The Africans and Der Synodaler Weg are two factions within the Catholic Church itself.
>So European sedes are operating differently than American ones?
Yes. They are an incredibly small denomination (for lack of a better term) spread out across Europe and America operating in very small groups. The Palmarians (roughly 2000 people total if their own numbers are to be believed) are the most successful.
>Which groups see Thuc as a former pope?
Technically any Sede Bishop who is part of the Thuc lineage sees Thuc as "the Pope". The specifics of what exactly that means varies but at minimum they believe that the Apostolic lineage is only valid if it comes from Thuc. There are, however, non-Thuc lineages of Sede bishops.
>So who do they think is pope now since Thuc died?
Whichever Bishop they're clinging to this week.
>Technically any Sede Bishop who is part of the Thuc lineage sees Thuc as "the Pope". The specifics of what exactly that means varies but at minimum they believe that the Apostolic lineage is only valid if it comes from Thuc.
There is Mendez and Duarte Costa, also Lefebvre.
>The Palmarians
They are the ultimate trads. I can't think of any other trad sect that has officially declared that Mary is also present in the Eucharist. They also have saint franco (yes, that Franco).
this is the ultimate trad
So who do they think is pope now since Thuc died?
>the Francis line tbh
Given that the vast majority of Catholics view Francis as the legitimate Pope, I don't think it's fair to call it "a line", he's just the Pope and the rest are schismatics. When the Africans throw a schism because Francis won't end clerical celibacy and monogamy, then it might be appropriate to talk of it as being merely "a line", but until then this is how it is.
For added fun, Der Synodaler Weg might schism at the same time. But Francis is giving them everything that they want, so they might not do that.
Most sedes don't believe he was the pope but most believe he was a great guy who saved a lot of the sacraments and think of him as a hero to the church.
Some former sede sects their own heads but now they don't identify as sedes and claim that sedes are disobedient for not obeying them and their leaders.
In America, headless sedevacantism that does not believe ordinary jurisdiction of bishops or priests exists now is the most common. They believe there are sacramental clergy but no ability to excommunicate or bind or loose.
>Arguably the most successful are the Palmarians.
>Membership: 1,000 to 1,500
And these are the most successful ones? Oof.
The tradcaths are complaining about him all the time in America.
American tradcaths aren't traditional Catholics.
What's different with American tradcaths vs Euro ones?
HFCS-filled communion hosts and wine
Francis supports this? God I wish.
Why penis helmets though?
Because culturally they're just American Protestants, and they're comfortable being another small conservative protestant church without all that Pope stuff.
>American
that is not of God and can not be the sword of God which restores the children of God to the Kingdom of Heaven.
>But why would their clergy claim they have no ordinary jurisdiction and say they have no power to elect a pope? Makes no sense.
Because that's convenient: they're all former Protestants and want to continue living as a fundie protestant cult with no authority higher than that one based trad priest each community trusts. Electing a Pope and trying to re-establish the Church hierarchy would feel too weird and unfamiliar.
The mass confusion caused by an Anti-pope would only result in more heresy springing up.
USA is a meme and the gta universe at this point
No one would give a shit
That's called an antipope.
Like a lion kills an antilope
You can't get more trad than this
