Household >PiHole in my home network >Octoprint on my 3D printer >Control Center for 3 green houses in my garden (temperature control, servos for automatic window opening, automatic watering, water tank level, humidity sensors,...)
Car >Full onboard computer with 7" touch display, coupled to the car stereo, running OpenAuto Pro, cloning the functionality of my smartphone, so I can listen to music, have Google maps, make calls while driving, etc.
Clockwork Pi. It's the same thing but modular and open source (assuming you don't use a raspi module). Plus you can get a RISC-V core to play with bare metal programming on a real board.
For what use case?
not op but hook up to a touch screen and use as a soundboard hooked up to my mixer
the mixer has funny effects I want to use them
I know what you can do with a Raspberry Pi, I'm using 4 in my household and car.
But OP is a homosexual as always.
What are you using them for?

Anything more and you're a n00b
A Haswell or Skylake off-lease corporate desktop for the same price.
>What would you recommend getting instead of a raspberry pi?
a job
orange pi zero 2 for any kind of single purpose thing. i use one as a print server, one for pihole, and one as a webserver.
Ryzen 5950x with RTX 3090 Ti and 128GB DDR5 RAM. Way better than RPi.
A go kart.
