The only book of his I have read is On Writing, since I was forced to in high school.
It is probably his worst book in terms of net negative effect on the world, since there are at least tens of thousands that read it and then felt inspired to write even more garbage potboilers than he did.
If it were 200 pages and the same quality, maybe it'd be worth reading.
The first 1/3rd of the book is decent, featuring each character and his destination. The middle-part is also fine, but then it completely falls to shit in the last 300 pages or so.
>is the stand good?
It had potential but it was ruined by the absolutely ridiculous ending. Seriously Game of Thrones shitfest level. Read "Swan Song" by Robert McCammon if you like post apocalyptical novels with fantasy and horror elements, it is the far better Stand.
The first half is really good, but then it starts getting stupid. I keep coming back to it, though. There's something about how he creates characters in The Stand that are simple types that also have realistic depth. They're kind of like nuanced cliches. He does it in other books, too, for example Dead Zone, but it really resonates in The Stand.
I'm not usually getting filtered by the author. But this homosexual is an exception.
I read his one short story, about some author that's got a gnome in his typewriter or something. Quite decent to be fair, but nothing too impressive. I don't really care about this exalted edgelord

All of them except Salem’s Lot.
The Dark Tower.
Absolutely trash ending to a series with a greaf beginning.
Cell
Just a bad story as far as I can remember.
