This is pretty much the list. There are plenty of schools that can provide a good computer science education, but they won't have the same cachet or networking opportunities. In the end, it doesn't matter a whole lot. I went to my local state school and had the same job as a guy from Carnegie Mellon and one from MIT.
unless you're in the top 2% of your class, have near perfect SAT/ACT scores, won multiple national competitions in piano performance, and have something extra to really set you apart from the competition, you're not getting in any of these. exception if you're a woman, a troon, or a minority.
top %2 in my class? try top %0.5 in my country. I'm not a loser so I get to study in the best technical university in my country and getting paid for maintaining my 3.75+ gpa.
MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, CMU, UTA, most of the UCs really, UWash, etc.. as far as undergrad
as far as grad, all of the above and more depending on what you wanna do
Do not fricking go to Berkeley. It is extremely crowded, class sizes are 1000+, you will never actually see your professor, classes are taught by FOB chinks, and if you are going for a CS degree instead of a EECS degree you are competing with thousands of other people and need to be in the top 25% in GPA
I believe
noa's a lot about that.
MIT, Stanford or Carnegie, in that order.

Make sure CS is what you're looking for. Some offer Software Dev, Networking, Cybersecurity, etc, all of which include programming.
