you're all always shitting on the Raspberry Pi 5 that an N100 machine is better and so here it is

I know this is a cia funded slide thread and you aren't fooling anyone, but I'll answer anyway. The catch is that windows 11 runs like shite on them. They're perfect as linux boxes or even poorgay media servers since the n100 is actually perfectly capable of transcoding 1080p content if need be, and it can more than handle direct streaming to multiple clients. They're really great if you only need to do lite computing tasks
>I know this is a cia funded slide thread and you aren't fooling anyone,
>talking about ACTUAL tech makes you a slide thread
ffs this isn't pol, what am I even sliding? These are neat x86 machines to run freeBSD because it's simple hardware
>They're really great if you only need to do lite computing tasks
but why are they so cheap? I feel like there's something being ignored here
>I feel like there's something being ignored here
Many of them use low quality ssds to keep the cost down. Definitely something to keep in mind if you buy one.
>why are they so cheap? I feel like there's something being ignored here
Single channel ram
Chinky shit fan
Overheating throttling, 95C is considered normal during medium load
Considering this is stock Intel Xe graphics, this poorgaybox could transcode 4k without a hitch.
Hopefully this will forever kill these dumb threads
I had such high hopes for that shit, then they put a bunch of marketing being shady as frick about single core perf. Sad af
Link?
YouTube. Search for any tech dude that was invited to their showcase. Just put Snapdragon Elite X and pick one.
I don't do million hour videos where I have to scan and search for the one second of actual information. Unlike most Internet denizens, I'm literate and can take advantage of reading a document
It's not that effortful, but alright.
Only a quadcore with 4 threads.
Make it 6c12t and its compelling.
The catch is these chink machines are SHIT
They constantly die. Get a 1L Micro PC instead.
I got a 16gb one of these for my father to do basic web browsing with. Put windows 10 ltsc on it and it works great for him. Always reinstall windows because the chinks load these things with malware
Drawbacks are slow SSDs and single-channel RAM. Try to find one without an SSD slotted in and insert one yourself. The RAM issue, you cannot fix yourself since that's a processor/chipset limitation. Basically, these processors are E-cores from their latest processor line. Which is fine in many cases, but not in some. And check benchmarks for your use case obviously. Hope this helps.
>the review from the product in question from OP
usb drives only
you could get a used laptop with better specs for the same $$$
No shit, but this isn't a laptop. Different use cases, apples vs. oranges.
you dumb frick
get the laptop, turn the screen off via screensaver and use it as a server
only single channel ram and worse idle power draw than jasper lake that came before it
Too chinky
One of the main benefits of Raspberry Pis vs mini pcs is that they are supposed to have much smaller power consumption
Intreal always lies about their tdp. Don't listen to all these tardissen shitting on the rpi5. The only reason to get a n100 if you need x86 or going to do a lot of decoding.
