What's the iPad Pro even good for? Apparently, they're releasing a new edition this year but the only reason I can think of buying this over a Macbook (that is almost as expensive) is the touch screen/drawing.

I used an ipad in high school and had one as a teenager but I don't remember ever caring about it at all and my family got rid of it pretty quickly without replacing it. I even got a cheap android tablet recently with an objectively worse screen but I'm still using it more.
i hate zoomers just thinking how old you are makes me horny
If I had money and less IQ, I would puy an ipod pro over any graphic tablet. Plus it's also good for 3D modelling.
You can attach a keyboard and rock an ipad as a daily driver for almost everything work related while being more portable and powerful than most conventional laptops.
Personally I hate apple software so it doesn't work for me. But if you're a normie and don't have a grudge like me, the it is an ok piece of hardware.
I was checking the accessories, and the pencil and keyboard are expensive af.
>mouse arrow is a round circle.
>your fingertip isn't pointy

Ok but what if I have a real job?
Sir, you don't need any type of computer to be mining coal. That's not an argument.
The actual modern pros with the M1/m2/m3/ etc? Not much, honestly
TRhe closest we have to desktop level apps are clip studio paint and da vinci esolve
Yiou can make a case for music editors with Apple's one, Bandcamp is it?
The problem is that while it was one of the first big screen tablest with an entirely locked down OS. It was aimed at schoolsm ostly and 'creatives' but for drawing only after they heavily pushed Procreate but Procreate is incredibly limited to proper apps like CSP or even Krita
You would just as good getting a cheaper android tablet that's a Samsung or a cheaper iPad as the pro has too much power but can't take advantage of it
Sculpting, animating, drawing, and that's basically it. It's nice to have a reliable portable art tablet. Will probably upgrade to the latest 12.9 eventually since Nomad Sculpt is asking for a lot of memory with the shitnim doing.
This. I mainly bought a 12.9 for illustration, figuring it would be like a multipurpose alternative for a Wacom Cintiq. It works, but I'm waiting for the rumored 14 inch version.
It’s great. I use it more often than my MacBook but I guess that’s the problem, you can’t actually go without a computer using it.
But basically you treat it as a non computer for notes, ebooks, art, etc
If iPad Pros could run MacOS softwares, they may be very interesting. The only reason why Apple doesn't let this happen is because they would sell only one device instead of two to iFanBoys.
iPads are big iPhones so you have no control over your device.
Everything is done through apps that each cost $20/month.
Macs still allow you to do pretty much whatever you want software-wise. Hardware is different of course.
I've used thousands of apps across my phones and iPads. I've only ever paid for 2.
For everyone with a job above middle management to consume their "use it or lose it" remote workstation budget
Also, it's kinda nice to highlight pitchbooks on for sales functions
I use it for apple pencil and a portable second monitor.
thats nice
tell her an internet stranger sent her blessings!
I barely use mine, it's basically my bedtime youtube player
IDK I switched to the tab so ultra and it's way better in every way. Android caught up and surpassed iOS. Dex desktop is amazing. I can use this as a laptop replacement. Something that can't be said about Apple.
Tab s9 ultra*
Good for wasting your money like all apple products
if it ran macos it would be amazing
but it doesnt so its shit
making music without a DAW, drawing, digital painting, notes, comfy ebook/manga/comic experience
not worth the money unless you're an artist/musician
