insecurity over our national identity being 99% identical except slightly more liberal. Canada is an ideological void, we largely lack any real founding identity, and the easiest substitute for a real identity is to shape a fake identity against an artificial enemy, like Pakistan against India
Indians have a chronic sensitive inferiority complex and seethe about the fact that countries with way better economies and smaller populations are infinitely more relevant than them. That's why they live vicariously through countries like Russia that they desperately suck up to. if Xi was a little less aggressive they'd be sucking off China and spamming "INDIA CHYNA ANTI COLONIAL WESTERN FRIENDSHIP ZINDABAD DURKADURKA" in YouTube too. Right now, their current sugar daddy is the US.
During the Cold War, India tried to balance between the USSR and US, so that it wouldn't be torn apart by ideological conflict.
When the USSR fell, the Indians concluded that the US was now the center of the international system, and moved closer to the US as a result. Also, China keeps fricking with India and the US are the only people who actually do anything about it.
Really, the Indians are friendly towards anyone who can help them against China. They're also huge fans of Russia, Japan, and Europe for the same reason.
They're still right next to it, doesn't seem wise to be like that to a military power and risk getting invaded instead of having friendly relationships.
there's a less than 0 chance the US is ever going to invade Canada. If they did they'd automatically lose 99% of their moral justification they've the world concerning their military hegemony.
Are you people moronic? The governments of America and Canada aren't enemies in any respect, we're both each others' biggest trading partner and Canada is America's only supplier of material resources that foreign superpowers can't extend their own influence over (no matter how hard China tries, all they've done is ruin our housing market and sour our relations with them)
It's American and Canadian people who look down on each other, and that's never going to lead to violence unless global warming renders enough of America uninhabitable that all the left wing progressive californians start calling for the bloody colonization and replacement of Canadian people with them (they'll come up with a reason why it's ok and we're actually evil, to put in the history books)
For what? PAYING for lands taken by force when they didn't have to?
The US might be the most honorable opponent Mexico ever faced, and I say that as someone who likes Mexico.
Canada is a fake country whose entire identity is being "not american" despite the fact that they all live within 50 miles of the border and are indistinguishable in "culture" and manner from anyone to the south.
Canada is just a series of extensions of the northern most states from washington to maine larping as their own special people.
the only ones who get a pass are the frenchies in quebec

Border regions, especially one as open as the US-Canadian region, tend to become sites of cultural transmission. When 90% of your population lives within a single border region then your entire nation is heavily influenced by its neighbor. Canada doesn't have any sort of significant, relatively isolated interior like many nations do.

Yes it does, moron. And almost all of Canadian culture comes from there. The reason such a huge percentage of the Canadian population as a whole lives within 50 miles of the border is because all of our huge cesspool cities are there. >but low population so it doesn't count
why doesn't it?

Because nations are made of people, not land.

And those are the canadian people. When people think of Canada, they don't think of the bland barely not-Americans from Toronto and Vancouver and Ottawa, they think of people in toques and flannel, speaking in either a maritime or prairie accent. Even when people think of Ontario as a whole and the people from it, they're not thinking of Toronto and Niagara falls sitting right next to Detroit, they're thinking of the vast expanse of tiny rural towns peppering the woods that stretch for hundreds of miles north of there.
You have never even been to Canada, those people are not a fantasy. The Mackenzies and the people in Trailer Park Boys are only barely exaggerations.

And for 90% of the population all of that is effectively a fantasy. Its like pretending that America is a land of cowboys and ranchers; its not real or its so insignificant that the overwhelming majority of people never encounter it.
they think living within 50 miles of the American border makes us just Americans because.. I don't know. Americans are fricking morons. This is why we look down on them.
They have whole government organizations dedicated to promoting things that are "Canadian" and not American.
Their nationalists gain their identity from rejecting how absolutely American they are in culture.
A large proportion of the Canadian national identity can be boiled down to "not being Americans", which is hilarious because that's something they're fricking awful at.
Like 80% of Canadian identity is hating America and "we're not Americans"
This. They're basically a non-country that should have been invaded and turned into US states long ago
insecurity over our national identity being 99% identical except slightly more liberal. Canada is an ideological void, we largely lack any real founding identity, and the easiest substitute for a real identity is to shape a fake identity against an artificial enemy, like Pakistan against India
Give me a quick rundown on India's Ameribooism

Roll back to before late 80s

Because the US is an incredibly moronic country

America lost all of its 'moral justifications' ages ago.
>Implying America has any moral justification left
Lol what? Canada is not endanger of invasion by the US for any reason. They are very close allies and each other’s largest trading partners.
Are you people moronic? It's the chinese immigrants
>country that got nuked by the US loves the US
>country that is basically the US hates the US
who writes this shit
>the buck broken guy across the street is friendlier than the next door neighbor who gets the wrong mail
Makes sense to me.
Because your average Canadian is Han Chinese
penis envy
Typical edgy little brothers. American and Canadian "culture" is practically indistinguishable. What, you gays drink milk out of bags?

The US might be the most honorable opponent Mexico ever faced, and I say that as someone who likes Mexico.
France and Mexico are the biggest surprises. I like all of these countries except for Indians, who I am viscerally repulsed by.
It's just envy plain and simple. Canada is the US, just worse in every way.
