>win10 IoT
imagine unironically running a perpetually out of date build. many apps even require specific windows build and won't run on anything older. stop larping with the win10 atm version
When it is actually better than Windows 11 Enterprise (not the reddit cope benchmarks, see: https://www.phoronix.com/review/nvidia2022-windows11-linux/2). Also there are still a lot of programs that have only Windows editions.
When I can use the Windows applications I want to on it without searching through 10 pages of Google and 20+ forums on how to compile and install em along with the 50 necessary dependencies >Inb4 hurr get filtered
You want more people to make the switch, then make it easier to do so
I tried for my laptop, but while it's generally fine it sucks if you're frequently connecting to projectors during your day.
I can trust Windows to automatically switch my audio output to the projector, Linux doesn't. I might have to write my own script to handle it. I might have to restart X each time. I don't need this.
I knew this was coming when Yusuf Mehdi took over from Panos Panay. The true brains behind the Xbox One launch fiasco, one time chief advertising strategist and the man who infected the world with MSN and Bing. Almost every forced advert in Windows and the Xbox is because of this guy.
Nothingburger. There have been ads in the start menu since Windows 10 at least. You click on them and it automatically installs TikTok or whatever from the Microsoft store.
>When are you going to finally make the switch to Linux?
After dallying with dual boot for a couple years I just nuked my W10 partition and went balls deep on Mint. Feels good, brings back some of the enthusiasm for muh PC.
What computer-illiterate porch primate limits themselves to one OS or one cumputer unless they're both stupid and extremely poor and too inept to have an abundance of devices?
i don't know, maybe when there's bearable nvidia support for wayland since x11 stinks like hot garbage.
half the people will not bother dropping 500+ bucks nowadays for a different GPU just to use an OS, i hope you realize that. especially if they're in a third-world country or make a low amount of income.
Why are you groomers always trying to get people to transition to Linux?
because we groom windows users into linux, it needs to explanation
2032 when win10 IoT stops getting support
Maybe by then linux will be ready for desktop usage

Linux doesn't earn enough money to fund the necessary development to be on par with Windows.
Is there even one distro with a full GUI and simple software installation?

>windows users are the Black folk of technology
Goes without saying
When it becomes better then Windows and when someone invents a highly compatible Linux Distro (besides Qubes) where I can execute Windows exe files.

Mint makes a fine host for Windows VMs and of course any other distros including other Mint VMs to experiment with.
when it can run all my programs
don't care still using vista

i'll switch as soon as linux will fix basic destop problems and will have useful software alternatives for windows ones
until that, I'll prefer to have all kinds of software, no random problems, but in cost of disabling some ads/recommendations
well anon, we don't need reddit spacing attention seeking women like yourself using linux anyway... so stay with windows
good morning sir
