>Polonium is dogshit
>Use a polonium
>A random brit showed up and shaved your hair off
>Die like the Skripal’s cat
a typical linux experience
part and parcel of living in a modern society.
>hates polonium
shouldn't have pissed off Putin oligarch-kun
Just enable tiling in plasma, moron
I want auto tiling tho
https://github.com/zeroxoneafour/polonium
yes, it's shit
>autotiling
Unironically what's the use case? I just do Super+ to the browser and Super+ to the editor and I'm fukken _golden_
If every new window rearranged every other window I'd go mad after 5 minutes
I could swear on Jesus you could type arrows on this website, did they update the filter recently? Is it a board to board thing?
>what's the use for auto tiling
>I just manually do what auto tiling does by pressing buttons every time I open a window
Peak moronation right there.
Auto tiling always sucks, and anything else is cope. Maybe if you ran it on a spare 1080Ti with ai it could actually work right.
>be you
>manually set your browser next to your text editor just how you want it
>no longer need the text editor and hide it
>browser still only fills half the screen
kys Black person. There is no realm in which tiling windows manually offers any advantage to automatic tiling
Chill out bro we're fellow human beings
homie just use a tiling VM at this point, why even waste the time on a DE?
homie do you understand the concept of having more features? Here to make it simpler you dumb frick, If you go to burger king it doesn't mean that burger king only sells burgers, right?
stop falseflagging as me, I would never make a food analogy, let alone a burger one
I'm not trying to false flag the reason I'm using a food analogy is that the person is just really dumb. So, he might really be lost if you use a different analogy or just straightforward logic to explain it to him
"Muh features" homie what fricking features? A fricking dock/taskbar with shortcuts that could be bound to keys instead?
You type like someone who blends food to make beverages
So I was correct, no features
because i only tile shit once every few hours it's moronic to have it the default behavior
if i open the file manager for example i wouldn't want it to occupy a tiny 1/8 corner of the screen by default, i want it in the center in a big fricking window so i can see what the frick i have to do, and the one time every new moon i need it tiled it takes 200 ms to press two keys on the keybord
When I open my file manager, I want the window I was using to be visible so I can drag and drop shit. If for some reason I want to make it fullscreen, I press the full screen key combination, just like you have to do because you essentially open windows at a random size. When I'm done I hide the window, and my windows auto-resize.
Black person I use a laptop, everything is full screen you moron.
You can overlap windows, move them outside the screen area, minimize them and do whatever, what's the point of auto-tiling even. you are always restricted to tiles, its very limiting.
of course the upside is that you can actually use the windows you open, and not having them cover each other thus essentially turning your desktop into a single process Xerox machine.
>but I can avoid that if I move the windows manually everytime I open one!
and I don't have to
Whenever you get around to creating it.
What makes Polonium worse than Bismuth
Isn't a fork of Bismuth
When dragging windows don't make kwin crash, they start floating. Resizing breaks tiling, a miriad of other issues. Bismuth was great, but polonium is a rewrite with the new API and just doesn't werk
Grim. I'm very used to my Bismuth setup on my desktop, I'm not in a hurry to update to Plasma 6.
Once it lands on Tumbleweed I'll check how bad it is and if it is as bad as you described I'll reroll back.
>check issues
>Add shortcuts like in Bismuth
It's so over.................
>drag and drop
Do you guys seriously do that or is it just some meme you parrot to fit in like hating israelites?
>>drag and drop
>Do you guys seriously do that or is it just some meme you parrot to fit in like hating israelites?
SUPER+T
My terminal emulator just opened. Now what?
Now you remember that you overrode the default binding to open your terminal. Grats!
Ok, I was being an ass. Maybe some distros have different defaults or something...
That cord opens up the setup for the tiling feature. You might have to enable it in workspace bvehavior > desktop effects section. You can set a different binding there too.
