That's why he tries to to hint back at Ryzens rocky launch to try and get people ty think "ye ryzen started bad but now is amazing so this is probobly gonna be the same".
The difference is that Ryzen offered a good value proposition when it launched, even the first generation. Remember, that was at the time when Intel's high-end consumer offerings were still 4c/8t at most. And it would have stayed that way had it not been for Ryzen.
