That's what I'm doing. The only piece of software that I'm using that might be affected is the Internet browser.
That's a while from now so I presume that people will have figured out a way to mostly un-shit 11 like they did with 10.
Definitely not switching to Linux, because it's a badly designed chaotic system. They'd rather use a dead Microsoft OS. Justified.

Hopefully by then the Vulkan renderer in Unreal Engine 5 will have worked the bugs out where I won't need to use the DirectX 12 renderer anymore and can confidently work on my projects in Linux.

Issue was. he notification box was bugged and never left the screen, rendering the computer unusable and forcing a restart (that installed the updates).
It’s extremely impressive how much of a pain it is to use windows 11.

games and software suites just don't work on linux, don't listen to them when they insist otherwise, wine is a trainwreck. if you dualboot you will be 100% back on windows within a year. it's fricking over.

I wasn't playing that much vidya anyway so I figured that I might as well stop or set up a dedicated Win11 machine if I want to play vidya.
Gaming is the best/easiest kind of software that Wine can run, I have 144 games on my Steam account and just 3 have very little showstoppers. With Proton-GE, almost all the games I've had issues with cutscenes due shady video codecs doesn't happen anymore.
+ Have a lot of good emulators availiable like PCSX2, Duckstation, MelonDS, Citra (F), PPSSPP, Dolphin, DOSBox, etc.
The only three things that bother me with Linux are: Desktop Environments and X11 vs Wayland and less variety of specific programs (Drawing software firstly).
About production software, well, I code Java, and Linux is smooth as frick to program almost anything.

I had more issues with games on Linux when I started to use it in 2022 than now. Some games two years ago had a lot of trouble with video codecs and DRM, firstly in Japanese games.

I have windows 10 on the hdd that came with this pc, and only boot into it for gaming. Once steam officially releases an OS, it will be switched.
Ive already decided, im switching to linux. My base system hardware I enjoy too much to throw it out for some MScuckgrade. Unless I get some comp gifted with win11 or future secondary comps that come with it, Im not throwing out my main for it.
