Where do I start with his poetry? Is there any way to "get" it if you don't speak eight languages?

Just read the secondary texts that explain why he's good and then parrot those opinions.

Just to clarify, I'm interested in Pound in spite of his moronic antisemitic opinions, not because of them.

      >can someone please explain to me how to interpret this poetry

I'm not looking to wallow in based and redpilled garbage; I just want to read and understand some poems. People on this board are obsessed with politics so sometimes you have to guide them away from it.

Read the pound era by Hugh Kenner and the companion to the cantos by Terrell. Also pick up the cantos, as well as the library of America pound poetry collection (which even has the Confucian translations, noh plays, and some other non fic). All you need. 4 books. Get to reading.

Pound didn't speak any of the languages he "translated" from, either, so I think you'll be fine.

I did go through all of early pound last year, most of it is angry young man and pastiche poetry, particularly of Browning for some reason, but here are some of the ones I liked.

    HISTRION

    AN IDYL FOR GLAUCUS

    PORTRAIT

    "FAIR HELENA" BY RACKHAM

    FRANCESCA

    UND DRANG

    TRANSLATIONS FROM HEINE

    CANZON : THE SOEAR

    DORIA

    TRENCHES: ST ELOI

    TENZONE

    THE GARRET

    THE GARDEN

    SALUTATION

    SALUTATION THE SECOND

    THE LSKE ISLE

    THE TEA SHOP

    HOMAGE TO QUINTUS SEPTIMIUS

    LANGUE D'OC - I, IV

E.P. ODE POUR SELECTIONS DE SON SEPULCHUR

    YEUX GLAUQUES

    ENVOI (1919)

    MAUBERLEY

    MEDALLION

The early plant throws up quite easy to get into don't feel you need to understand all the references, neither did pound. His translations are probably his most accessible work, so maybe go there

Just ick up The Wasteland. As seen by Elliot's showing of his actual level writing poems about cats, it is all Pound, and it is short, and easy to find with adequate notations.
