tbf if there was one MS Office app worth paying for personal use, it would be notes. Libre Office covers everything else.

I'm a total iToddler with an iphone, ipad & mac but I don't like Apple Notes at all, only Obsidian. My biggest gripe with the default app is it doesn't include code blocks for development notes and code snippets.
I take notes outside of development but it makes more sense to me to write everything in Obsidian markdown files.

Oops I see my mistake. My brain finds it difficult to fathom someone using Macintosh software willingly, so I assumed whatever is being discussed must be something other than that. I apologize.

From a cursory search, it looks as though APple Notes allows code blocks, you just have to format the text into monostyled/space.

After switching my desktop to linux I really miss apple notes. Took me way too long to get something where I can just write a note and have it appear on my phone with end2end encryption without having to pay for it. The answer was Joplin, but even that thing is a piece of shit electron app.
