I suspect it was a handful of people who are susceptible to memes. One or two of them were the ones posting slightly coherent arguments and the rest just shitpost and memes. I suspect that is how it usually is.
Apparently the guenon crew came from discord. Some were really knowledgeable about him but their frequency of posting gave an illusory impression for how popular it was. I’m sure the usual susceptible lost 16-22 year olds were the ones suckered in. The antinatalism threads are similar. They disappeared for a little while so it is either a single, or small group of overzealous anons spamming
The ones posting "Parmenides invented the notion of retroactive refutation" were almost certainly the latter crowd of teens and smooth brains. Every time I removed it from the Wikipedia page they went straight back and added it. Eventually I just left it because I didn't want my account banned over a stupid meme for tard children.
>Apparently the guenon crew came from discord
The first Guenon discord servers were created multiple years after a lot of people here had already become interested in his works, it was the culture of Guenon-posting that has existed here that created the demand to have a discord to discuss it

>a lot of people here became interested in his works
Not a lot. It was a small dedicated group who posted about nothing but guenon. Some anons started spamming him because they thought it was funny and it made it even worse.

I refuse to believe that because Guenon posting only really was a thing for a few months in 2020. There were hundreds and then it just suddenly dropped to a few and then to virtually none.
This. It is an easy way to tell when it is an artificial movement. A terminally online anons posting about the same super niche topic, making multiple threads a day, can make it look like that is popular here. It is one of the downsides of anonymity. Once it dries up it’s clear. We’ve seen it with Evola, Guenon, antinatalism, Gardner, just off the top of my head

That would imply Guenon was born before Kant was, illiterate child.

There are a few core posters of a topic and a lot of susceptible anons who want to ride the wave of whatever is popular or meme worthy. The few core anons leave or are banned, susceptible anons move on to next big topic
OP (poo be upon him)
>NOT Porn Be Upon Him
I ... uh ... OK.
Could we just make this an erotica thread instead?
Is there an esoteric nature hidden within the tradition of frogposting?
The almost total disappearance of guenon posting shows that whole movement was astroturfed and more like a raid. Kek at anyone who got suckered in
