Plato complete works (hackett single volume), The Brothers Karamazov, and One Hundred Years of Solitude because of how the ending fits with the scenario of humanity ending
These three should be enough to: >1. Teach men (survivors or next generations) how to think about things (Socratic method, for example) and solve problems, while also; >2. Giving them things to think about (Dao de Jing), which may serve as a basis for literature, culture, and art. And also; > 3. Giving them possible answers to the possible questions they might have as regards morality, conduct, and so on. It finally; > 4. Teaches them basic agriculture.
I'm slightly unsatisfied by it, however. I wish there was a book more focused on how to survive and thrive in a primitive environment, using only hand and handmade tools. If anyanon knows a book like this, please tell.
If you understand God well enough, you know that either the Bible would "reappear" spontaneously, so to speak, without needing to be preserved, or It will be denied to humanity, in which case Its preservation would be rendered useless. It's possible that the Dao de Jing would be redundant alongside Plato's complete works, and that 's Principia Mathematica would be better, but eh.
