I got tired of DNS servers like google and cloudflare trying to ban certain domain names, so when I set up pfsence I enabled unbound and I haven't experienced that since.

If you want to do encrypted DNS. But IMO it’s better to just go through the trouble of setting it up system wide. >Linux
install stubby >Windows
Add a registry value and point your DNS to an appropriate one that supports DoT or DoH.
i use unbound and pihole multiple instances too so when i decide to do an update and one breaks the net doesnt "die" while i scramble to fix it some tips with off normal ports dnsip#port in pihole and dig is useful (dns information groper) which its history is being lost cause groping is le bad im sure unzip and mount and finger will be next anyway dig @host -p port domain.name
Cloud flare encrypted.

easily done with a pi-hole
pi-hole can be virtualized too so you dont need to cary it around
just minimal specs for a VM that runs in the background
Is OpenNIC still good?
i use isp default dns, i see that firefox has dns, is firefox dns any good?

You should host your own DNS over HTTPS with what ever filtering you want and connect that too unfiltered 9.9.9.9 upstream

I guess if you don't mind sending your DNS queries to Putin.
>not wanting to send your info to the Kremlin is political
>Believing the Kremlin doesn't have a network surveillance apparatus at least as comprehensive as the NSA

Putin here. From what I see on my Windows XP machine, I can confirm that this poster
is indeed a homosexual
The Kremlin is actually providing a better service by blocking ads.
Meanwhile the NSA wants to force you to watch ads on Google and Cloudflare DNS.
The NSA recommends using uBlock Origin.

You know why you didn't see that AAAA record? Cause storing IPv6 aint my frickin business that's why.
Whatever my ISP gives me, I'm too lazy to change that shit or to finish this p
Wouldn't self hosting my own DNS mean that the isp would see the traffick anyway and be able to enforce DNS level domain blocks?

aleo i straight up block known dns over https hosts and google dns ips cause lots of homosexuals like to hardcode it and make it a default

it wasn't a joke thread, dead Black person
Always ping/tracert the DNS location and go for DNS that doesnt have server in your country/city to be aproached by cop for your browsing history
