KDE and Gnome are the only real options since they have the best Wayland support. Most others are still stuck on the obsolete X11, and the ones that do claim Wayland support are still not as complete as KDE and Gnome.

inb4: it's not a bug, it's a feature!
i still struggle with this question given a keyboard and mouse id choose dwm, if somone else is using it i need something more but i prefer less like fluxbox i really need to make my own or get dwm to float everything and provide a startmenu-esque taskbar cause normies cant remember hotkeys needinf to click buttons instead
Cinnamon is my favorite. It's just a simple traditional desktop environment. It doesn't try to look pretty like Gnome, and it doesn't overwhelm you with a billion customization options like KDE Plasma. It only gives you what you want, with none of the crap you don't want.
KDE or Cinnamon
this if you want your de to just werk
>kde
>jest wurkz
pick one
5.27 just werks on X11. The Plasma 6 thing will probably stabilize after a few months when they make an LTS release

I3 if you want to use as few resources as possible
Otherwise KDE and download a theme for it from the plasma store

you should choose a fricking rope since you can't take a screenshot
moron
GNOME is the only one that won't waste your time with any issues. The rest of them simply are way below GNOME when it comes to stability.

For me, it is xfce or cinnamon
i3 and sway concurrently, just switch between them if something ends up not working due to X11 or Wayland.
Xfce4 mate or lxde
Others are gay garbage and makes you be excommunicated from linux community
