Hardcover because they can rest at different stages of the book more easily. With paperbacks like that unless you're in the middle of the book it tries to close itself.
Hardcovers usually look nicer so if you want a pretty version of a book you already know you like and want to show off on your shelf, they're usually better for that. But for actually reading the book itself both have negligible positives and negatives. I usually buy paperback because it's cheaper but if something is only available in hardcover it couldn't matter less.
I've always hated hardcovers but recently I've noticed they have a lower resell rate so you can actually get secondhand hardcovers cheaper for some reason so I'm a convert but virtue of my being a cheapskate.
I refuse hardcovers, unless they are those ones with column formatted text like the Harvard classic series. Take the column text pill.
what do you mean? Please post a picture.
NTA but presumably like a bible

You know you can just bend it until it stops doing that

They both have their use cases. I like hardcovers when I read at a desk, but I prefer a paperback when I’m laying on the couch or bed.
Pocket sized hardback
Depends on the book. Pulpy genre fiction that can be finished in under two days NEEDS to be read in mass market paperback.
I prefer paperbacks because they're easier to handle
pirated ebooks
paperback if <300 pages
hardcover is MANDATORY if >450 pages
not really no
