      SPBP. Install Logseq.

proprietary and will hold your files hostage enjoy paying your monthly cuck fee when they get rid of the free tier

I installed it and got logseq is not responding after first pc reboot. quick search online reveals people complaining about data loss.
      instant uninstall

all your notes are saved in plain text files with intact folder structure mirroring what you see in Obsidian. Obsidian is just a fancy file explorer and that is a good thing.
subscription is for idiots, you can set up synch yourself with cloud storage or Synchthing

I wanted to use Logseq first but I decided to use Obsidian I love open source but not if I risk data loss lol.

I am mixed so I guess you cucks can use notion

Not an issue if you use Git sync, which is built in.

of those, clear winner is obsidian. i might experiment with migrating everything to logseq and seeing how that works. logseq is probably the right choice if you don't use a million plugins on obsidian.

Never heard of it. I've been looking for an open Obsidian alternative. Is it weird like logseq? Can it have inline images and videos

It's like a private Notion with more flexibility.

Logseq for me was perfect. Needed an open source app to take hand written notes on with my tablet, logseq whiteboards are the only open source solution I've found and it works amazing.

Other then that vim + nvim + doom emacs does everything I need.

Notion requires an internet connection and all files are stored on a remote server; if you lose access to your account, you lose access to all of your files.

Obsidian on the other hand keeps your files on your local drive.

i used to keep notes but to be honest i literally never read them. embarassingly i often forget i even made notes on whatever it was that i needed and only realize many years later when i stumble on the file again.
i dont really keep notes of anything anymore. partly for the above reason but also it turns out most things arent as interesting as i originally think they are. its like the old joke (well its not a joke actually), the "password manager" many people use is the "click here if you forgot your password" button. tech is sort of like that for me aswell, and chatgpt really turbocharges the just-in-time figuring stuff out approach.
